Commentator Emma Woolf has launched a scathing attack on Prince Harry, branding his out-of-court settlement with The Sun newspaper publisher as "absolute, total and utter hypocrisy".

Speaking to GB News, Woolf criticised the Duke of Sussex's decision to settle his legal claim against News Group Newspapers (NGN), describing it as a "pyrrhic victory".

Woolf mocked Prince Harry's previous stance as a self-proclaimed moral crusader, stating: "He told the world barely six weeks ago that he would hold the media accountable, and guess what, he settled. You couldn't make it up."

She suggested the decision was financially motivated, noting that mounting legal costs likely influenced the settlement.

The settlement was announced in the High Court just as a ten-week trial was due to begin.

David Sherborne, the Duke's barrister, announced to the court: "I am pleased to announce to the court that the parties have reached an agreement."

Woolf particularly criticised the Duke's stance on privacy, which was cited as a key reason for leaving the Royal Family.

"When they flounced out of the Royal Family, they cited privacy as one of their main concerns," she told GB News.

Prince Harry's lawyer, David Sherborne, called the settlement a "monumental victory"Getty

She accused the Duke and Duchess of doing "nothing but flog their own family secrets" since their departure.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"They've alienated themselves from their families, they've exploited their royal connections, and they've pursued money and fame and publicity," Woolf said.

The commentator specifically highlighted Prince Harry's memoir as problematic. "What about Spare, the memoir? Spare was unforgivable," she stated.

She accused the couple of "relentlessly exploiting" their royal connections while betraying the Royal Family.

In her criticism, Woolf drew a stark contrast with Prince William's approach to legal action against the press.

"Prince William has also taken action, he's taken the press to court. He made his point, he got an apology, and he got a payout with dignity, and I think he donated that to charity," she said.

The commentator questioned Prince Harry's future direction, describing his legal pursuits as problematic. "This litigation thing has become a total obsession," she stated.

Woolf suggested the Duke and Duchess's popularity has waned even across the Atlantic.

"Even the American public, even Vanity Fair have turned against the Duke and Duchess," she told GB News. "So what now for him?" she concluded.
