“The Bachelor” finale surprised not just fans, but seemed to stun runner-up Litia Garr as well.
Grant seemed to have feelings for both Litia and Juliana, dropping the L-bomb on each of them.
U.S. Weekly reports that during the show’s live clips, Litia revealed that Grant said to her during one of their solo dates that he was sure she was his “number one emotional connection.” She also stated he said he could “stop the show right now” because of his feelings for her.
Litia called Grant on the carpet after he told her “I’m not your person” during the pre-filmed portion of the finale. The 31-year-old basketball player also said he loved Litia “very much,” but explained, “My emotional connection is farther somewhere else.” He apologized that “it got to this point.”
Litia asked Grant when his feelings about her changed, but he insisted they hadn’t, and they were simply overshadowed by deeper feelings for Juliana. “I do love you,” he insisted, before adding, “I hope you don’t look at me any differently.”
Litia hit back with the chilly response, “Well I do for sure.” Elaborating on her feelings, she said, “The switch-up is crazy,” before adding, “I just want to be clear that I’m confused and I’m sad. And I’m mad.”
Many observers had predicted that Litia would be the winner, including season 20 “Bachelorette,” Charity Lawson, who said on “The Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast that she felt Grant seemed tired and was “giving nothing” during all his hometown visits except for the one to Star Valley, Wyoming with Litia Garr.

The couple visited GMA on March 25, and Grant said of the engagement, “It’s a blessing, you know?” He continued, “To go on the show, you don’t know what the outcome is gonna be, but I have the best possible outcome.”
Juliana then chimed in, “Yeah. I feel really lucky that he made the decision that he did. I think there were so many amazing girls on his season.
Grant seemed torn about his final choice, and went to his parents for advice before ultimately deciding to propose to the Italian 28-year-old. Recalling the conversation with his parents, Grant said, “They told me whatever decision that I chose, they were gonna support and love me through it.”
In response to critics of his breakup with Litia, Grant said, “I think that everybody’s gonna have their own opinion. For that I would say, you know, try to empathize.”
The reality star went on, “I empathize with Litia. Like, I could admit – could admit my wrongs. But I went in there searching for my person. I found it.”
