President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform on Wednesday evening to rage that his address to Congress received no notable applause from Democrats.

"The Democrats should lose the Midterms based on their behavior at last night’s Joint Address to Congress," wrote Trump. "All Republicans must use their behavior on men in women’s sports, their very dangerous Open Border policy, High Energy and Taxes, and much else. Also, Republicans should utilize the footage provided on the total disrespect they showed to all of those that were honored that night, including young ladies who were killed by illegal migrants, people with terminal cancer, etc. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to stand, smile, or applaud."

"This could be, on analyzing the full tape of this Historic Event, your full CAMPAIGN TO VICTORY!" Trump continued. "In other words, Republicans can take what happened last night, and win any Race in the Country. Good Luck!!!"

Trump's address was marked with a number of disturbances, including Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) physically accosting Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) and ripping an anti-Trump protest sign out of her hand, and Rep. Al Green (D-TX) being forcibly removed from the chamber when he shouted in protest at the president.

The evening's events was followed by a fiery response from Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), who condemned Trump's speech and policy record.

Nonetheless, some analysts wish Democrats had gone even further in their protests, with conservative policy analyst Tom Nichols writing for The Atlantic that the whole party should have walked out of the speech when he slurred Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) with one of his favorite insults. "When Trump referred to Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts as 'Pocahontas,' they could have left en bloc, declaring once they were outside that they would take no part in any further demeaning of the House chamber—or, for that matter, of American democracy," he argued.
