A topic that he has been the center of when it comes to how he specifically is officiated.
Appearing on 96.5 The Fan in Kansas City, the three-time Super Bowl champion talked about the recent calls and how he handles his relationships with the referees.
"I've kind of learned that, no matter what happens during the game, that something is going to come out about [the officiating] if you win, and if you continue to win, so I don’t really pay attention to it," Mahomes said.

"Obviously, there was a call here or there that people didn’t agree with, but at the same time, I think there were a lot of other plays that really decided the outcome of that football game."
Mahomes is correct, in that the officials didn't decide the game on Saturday.
The Chiefs thoroughly outplayed the Texans.

That isn't up for debate.
However, it is also fair to say that the Chiefs did get a couple favorable calls to go their way.

ThereBut in the grand scheme of things, the calls had little impact on the actual game.
However, there was one certain play in which a flag didn't get thrown, that had a lot of people fired up.
It was because Mahomes flopped, and tried to bait the official into throwing a flag.
Mahomes admitted that he should not have done that.
"I would say that the only one [where] I felt like I probably did too much was the one on the sideline where I didn’t get the flag," Mahomes said.
"The ref saw it and didn’t throw a flag, I understood it immediately and know that I probably shouldn’t have done that.
"But at the same time, the one that everybody is talking about where I fell down — I was just trying to get out of the way of getting smoked by the defensive lineman running.
"So, I'll try to keep doing that and not take those hits, because that's the smart way to stay in the football game."
When you win two Super Bowls in a row, and are going for a third straight, everything you do is under a microscope.
Mahomes and the Chiefs know that.
They understand it.
Mahomes said as much.
