The Lincoln Lawyer is back in court.
Netflix confirmed on Jan. 21 that the legal drama series will return for Season 4 in a post on X, (formerly Twitter), with production starting in February. The renewal comes just three months after the release of Season 3.
The show follows the legal exploits of a Los Angeles attorney who has returned from an accident and drug addiction to become a shrewd defender in tough, high-profile cases. His nickname comes from the vintage convertible Lincoln Continental that he cruises in throughout Los Angeles, although a chauffeured black SUV is used when it's time for serious business.
Outside of court, he must navigate two ex-wives, a troubling teenage daughter, and romances that are hard to maintain during grueling trial schedules.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will reprise his role as hotshot defense attorney Mickey Haller. But the big news is that his Neve Campbell's character, ex-wife Maggie McPherson, is back in full force after being sidelined for just two appearances in Season 3. Campbell's return isn't about off-screen politics, though. Author Michael Connelly's book series gives Campbell's character a bigger role in his sixth book, The Law of Innocence, that will serve as the backbone in the TV series Season 4.

Trusty sidekicks Becki Newton (attorney Lorna Crane), Jazz Raycole (driver/office manager Izzy Letts), and Angus Sampson (biker turned investigator Cisco) will also return in Season 4.
Season 3 left off with a cliffhanger, as a police stop led to the discovery of a body in Mickey Haller's trunk. The dead man was Sam Scales, a former client of Haller's, setting up a tribulation that will dominate Season 4.
Fans cheered the coming return of the popular series, which has been a solid numbers performer for Netflix views, and has received good critical notice.
"Yes yes yes!!! Season 4 can't come soon enough!" one user shared on Facebook about the series return.
Another super fan echoed the sentiment. "This is one of the best originals in Netflix history!"
Perhaps the best news for fans: show runners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez have revealed they have plans to adapt all of the Connelly books, which means a Season 5 and 6 are potentially on the horizon.
