'The Voice' Winner Huntley Links Up With Jelly Roll and MGK, Who "Ripped It on Stage" in Phoenix
'The Voice' champion Huntley got to spend some time with Jelly Roll and MGK at the former's show in Phoenix, Arizona.
Years ago, Michael Huntley (who goes by Huntley) was homeless and sleeping on a bench in Nashville’s Centennial Park. Determined to make a name for himself in the music industry, the Virginia blues-rocker auditioned for season 24 of The Voice. In December 2023, his jaw dropped when he learned that viewers had crowned him the winner.
Since his life-changing victory, Huntley has taken his talents all across the country, releasing multiple original songs. The 34-year-old father of two recently had another “pinch me” moment when he hung out with Jelly Roll and Machine Gun Kelly at the “Need a Favor” singer’s Arizona show.
Taking the stage Wednesday (Feb. 5) for his headlining set at the Coors Light Birds Nest concert series, Jelly Roll had one question for his fans. ““Do y’all mind if we turn the Birds Nest into a honky-tonk right now?” the Grammy nominee asked the crowd at the WM Phoenix Open.
Unsurprisingly, they didn’t mind at all. The Antioch, Tennessee-born artist delivered fan favorites such as “Save Me” and “I Am Not Okay” before welcoming surprise guest MGK onto the stage. The pair performed a medley of their duet “Lonely Road” and “Take Me Home, Country Road,” the John Denver classic from which it draws heavily.
Not only was Huntley fortunate enough to be in the audience, The Voice champion also enjoyed backstage privileges. The “Skyline Drive” crooner shared photos to social media of himself posing alongside both Jelly Roll and MGK.

“The energy in that place was insane!” he wrote in a Thursday (Feb. 6) Instagram post. “So glad I got to run into @machinegunkelly again who also ripped it on stage as always!”

Surprisingly, Wednesday’s (Feb. 5) show wasn’t the first time Huntley had crossed paths with Jelly Roll. The “Tell Me When It’s Over” singer and his fellow season 24 finalist, Jacquie Roar, supported the “Winning Streak” hitmaker during his historic performance at the Oregon State Penitentiary back in September.
That time, Roar, 39, shared her own photo with Jelly Roll. “Thank you, Jelly, for allowing me my full circle moment by inviting me up to sing “Need a Favor” with you… I know it won’t be the last time,” she wrote. “I manifest it now.”
