“SNL” returned to the air for the 12th episode of its 50th season on Jan. 25, with Timothée Chalamet channeling his inner Bob Dylan as host and musical guest.
In his opening monologue, Chalamet talked about his recent Oscar nomination for playing Dylan in “A Complete Unknown,” and promised the studio 8H audience that he would be performing his personal favorites of Dylan expansive discography.
Chalamet chose some deep cuts, performing three songs over two performance windows: “Outlaw Blues,” from Dylan’s fifth album, “Bringing It All Back Home”; a spoken-word rendition of “Three Angels” off Dylan’s eleventh album, “New Morning;” and “Tomorrow Is a Long Time,” a song Dylan first recorded in 1963 but didn’t appear on an album until his 1971 greatest hits compilation.

Also showing up for a quick cameo was Lin-Manuel Miranda, reprising his role as Alexander Hamilton a historical political cold open rudely interrupted by Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson).
Check out the videos below to see highlights from the latest episode of “SNL,” including Chalamet’s opening monologue, singer/songwriter James Blake quietly assisting Chalamet on piano, and all of the guests visiting Colin Jost and Michael Che at the “Weekend Update” desk.
