‘Ted Lasso’ Renewed for Season 4, Jason Sudeikis Returning

Well, we can believe again.
Apple TV+ has officially renewed “Ted Lasso” for Season 4, with series lead Jason Sudeikis onboard to return as the titular pun-happy, mustachioed football coach. No other castings are officially confirmed at this time, though it had previously been reported that options had been picked up for Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift.
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,” Sudeikis said in a statement. “In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Jack Burditt (“Nobody Wants This,” “Modern Family,” “30 Rock”) has boarded Season 4 as executive producer under his new overall deal with Apple TV+. Sudeikis will executive produce in addition to starring. Brendan Hunt (who also played Coach Beard)Toheeb Jimoh, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel also executive produce. Goldstein is attached to write and executive produce along with Leanne Bowen.
Popular on VarietyBill Lawrence executive produces via his Doozer Productions alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Sara Walker and Phoebe Walsh are writers and producers on the new season, with Sasha Garron co-producing. Julia Lindon is a writer and Dylan Marron is story editor. Warner Bros. Television, where Doozer is under an overall deal, produces with Universal Television.
“Ted Lasso” was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Kelly, and Hunt, and is based on the preexisting format and characters from NBC Sports.

In addition to the aforementioned cast members, “Ted Lasso” starred Juno Temple, Phil Dunster, Nick Mohammed, Toheeb Jimoh, Cristo Fernández, Kola Bokinni, Billy Harris, and James Lance.

Thus ends the long-running question of whether or not the much beloved show would be back for a fourth season. Season 3 of “Ted Lasso” largely wrapped up the show’s storylines, with AFC Richmond rising through the ranks of the Premier League and Ted returning home to Kansas to be with his son.
Still, fans have been relentless in their pursuit of more “Ted Lasso” and the cast and creators have given a wide variety of answers as to whether or not the show would continue.
The show originally debuted in 2020, with the third season airing in 2023. “Ted Lasso” quickly found itself an audience upon its release, perhaps due to the main character’s quest to spread happiness and kindness at a time when the world was deep in the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Ted Lasso” was ultimately nominated for 61 Emmy Awards during its run, winning 13. That includes back to back wins in the best comedy series category, as well as consecutive wins for Sudeikis and Goldstein.
