"Produce 48" And Former Idol Choyeon Revealed To Have Worked As Waitress After Her Group Disbanded
"Produce 48" popular trainee Choyeon revealed that she worked as a waitress for a while after her group Bugaboo disbanded.
Choyeon gained attention during Produce 48 for her zeal in performing.
She later debuted in a girl group called Bugaboo in 2019. The group disbanded in 2022 after failing to hit success.
Choyeon revealed that after her group disbanded, she decided to fold her dreams of becoming an idol. She had to turn to working as a waitress in order to turn a profit.
After Bugaboo disbanded, I received lots of offers for casting. I wondered if I should try again, but I thought that I wouldn’t be able to be happy. I decided to leave it in my memories and to try to find another path. We had to empty the dorms, but I didn’t want to return to my hometown of Gwangju as it would truly mean the end. My aunt lives in Seoul, so I lived with her for awhile, but I had no way of earning money. So I worked as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant in a department store in Yeoungdeung-po.
— Choyeon
She felt discouraged at times as people would recognize her at times while she was sweaty and tired. Choyeon wondered what she was doing with her life at such moments. Despite that, she was able to earn some money and even bought presents for her parents. Fortunately, Choyeon has found a new path! Choyeon is now a performer for kids’ musicals. She tours the country performing for children. Thanks to that, she is even receiving some fees for advertisement on social media!
Choyeon is living proof that when there is a will, there is definitely a way.
