10 Ride (2025)Available February 1 On Paramount+
With Yellowstone now over (until the upcoming sequel series comes along), fans might be looking for a new modern cowboy adventure to saddle up with. As luck would have it, a small little movie called Ride has landed on streaming that seems tailor-made for fans of the Yellowstone universe. The movie follows a young man recently released from prison who attempts to become a championship rodeo rider in order to raise money for his struggling family.
The movie is a small and inspiring story with a nice amount of gruffness to separate it from the usual story of this kind. It also features fan-favorite Yellowstone cast member Forrie J. Smith, a real-life rodeo rider himself. It could make for a surprise hit on streaming with a nice mix of a redemption story, an underdog sports story, and a cowboy adventure for the 21st century.

The mashup of horror and wrestling is an intriguing mix that makes Dark Match an exciting movie for a lot of fans. The Shudder original movie follows the ragtag members of a small independent wrestling company who accept a gig in a remote town. However, they find out too late that the match is being put on by a sinister cult leader who is not just looking for some entertainment, but a fight to the death to serve as ritual sacrifices.
Despite being a low-budget affair, Dark Match makes the most of its fun and wild premise. It doesnât take itself too seriously but never ventures into horror-comedy antics. It is a brutal and bloody bit of fun that feels like a mix of The Running Man and The Wrestler, acting as an oddball love letter to independent wrestling shows like this.

David Cronenberg is one of the icons of the horror genre while his son, Brandon Cronenberg, is making a name for himself in the genre as well. Now another member of the family has joined the filmmaking as Caitlin Cronenberg made her directorial debut with the satirical thriller Humane. The movie is set in the not-too-distant future in which humanityâs population is overrun to the point that the government seeks volunteers to regularly be killed off. The film focuses on a family put in a precarious situation when their parentsâ plan to volunteer becomes complicated.
The movie features a pitch-dark comedic tone as this affluent family finds themselves faced with the realities of the crumbling world for the first time and quickly falls apart. There is also a wonderful cast who help to see the offbeat nature of the story, with Jay Baruchel, Emily Hampshire, Peter Gallagher, and Enrico Colantoni in a hilarious role as the government official who has come to collect.

Following the announcement of the Oscar nominations for this yearâs ceremony, there will be many people seeking out streaming options for the nominees. One such nominee has found a new streaming home this week, and while not as well-known as the bigger titles, it is still a gripping movie worth seeking out. The Girl with the Needle is a Danish period drama set in Copenhagen in 1919, following a young woman who begins working as a wet nurse at an adoption agency. However, she soon becomes suspicious of the woman running the agency and her true intentions.
There is also a surprisingly touching element to the family dynamic that provides an effective emotional core to the saga.
The movie has been nominated for Best International Feature Film at the Oscars, which has raised the profile of this underseen project. It is a stunning black-and-white feature that also has true-crime elements, being loosely based on an infamous Danish case.

Two Guardians of the Galaxy team up in an action-comedy that was largely overlooked when it was released this summer, but has a chance to find its audience on its new streaming home. The Killerâs Game stars Dave Bautista as an international hitman who discovers that he is terminally ill. Not wanting to end his life that way, he contacts rival hitmen to put out a contract on his own head. However, when he learns that he has been misdiagnosed, he must fight off the hordes of enemies to stay alive.
While The Killerâs Game did not get a warm reception from critics either, it still has a lot of fun things going for it. Bautista has proven himself a charismatic and skilled actor who can carry a movie, while it is fun to see him playing opposite Pom Klementieff again, given their hilarious chemistry as Drax and Mantis in the MCU.

Along with Nicolas Cageâs creepy role in Longlegs, the actor also starred in another well-received horror movie in 2024 with Arcadian. The post-apocalyptic movie stars Cage as the father of two twin boys who live in a remote cabin and attempt to survive in the hostile new world. The main threat against them is the hordes of vicious beasts who come out at night. With that threat growing, the family must take measures to ensure their survival.
There is also a surprisingly touching element to the family dynamic that provides an effective emotional core to the saga.
Arcadian presents itself as a fairly typical monster movie, but it is elevated by smart storytelling and great performances. There is also a surprisingly touching element to the family dynamic that provides an effective emotional core to the saga. Cage is especially good as the caring and strong father, giving a performance that grounds some of the wilder elements of the story.

Following his hilarious turn in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Michael Keaton returns for another comedic role, albeit one that is a lot more grounded. Goodrich stars Keaton as Andy Goodrich, a man who is left to fend for himself when his wife enters rehab. At a loss with caring for his two young kids on his own for the first time, he seeks out help from his eldest daughter from his first marriage, played by Mila Kunis.
The movie feels like a modern update on Keatonâs classic comedy Mr. Mom, putting him in the same position decades later in his career. However, Goodrich also offers some nice dramatic elements, giving Keaton a complex and flawed character to explore while also offering Kunis a nice supporting role. It is a movie about imperfect parents who discover it is never too late to make an impact.

The team behind the classic movie Forrest Gump reunites for a touching and unique drama in Here. The movie takes a literal straightforward perspective as it chooses one spot on Earth that evolves over the years, eventually becoming a house where various families build their lives through generations, historic events, and relatable life moments. Tom Hanks and Robin Wright reunite on screen as a couple who fall in love in this house as the audience watches their relationship over the years.
While Forrest Gumpâs legacy is a very difficult one to follow up, Here wisely takes a much different approach. Here is intimate in many ways, with this single camera angle serving as the view into various peopleâs lives over the course of the runtime. However, it is also similar to Forrest Gump in many ways as it also takes a look at history through the eyes of its characters while touching on universal themes.
1 Youâre Cordially Invited (2025)Available January 30 On Prime VideoYour RatingYou're Cordially Invited
Release Date

Director
Nicholas Stoller
Two superstars team up for a new wedding comedy and the latest Prime Video Original movie. Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon star together in Youâre Cordially Invited with Ferrell playing the father of a bride and Witherspoon playing the sister of a bride at another wedding only for both weddings to end up double-booked at the same venue for the same day. These strangers then become bitter enemies as they battle for control of the venue and compete to see who can pull off the wedding.
It is always fun to see Ferrell in another outrageous comedy and it has been a while since Witherspoon has embraced her silly side like this. The movie also has some solid behind-the-scenes comedy talent with Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) writing and directing. This could make for the first great comedy of 2025.
