9-1-1 Season 8 finale reveals devastating first look at Bobby’s funeral
Peter Krause has left the station for good as Bobby’s shocking death changes everything. 9-1-1 Season 8 finale will follow his funeral.
The worst has happened – Bobby has died in 9-1-1 Season 8. With Peter Krause officially leaving the show, attentions turn to Bobby’s heart-wrenching funeral in the season finale.
Over the binge-worthy TV show‘s eight-season run, every type of emergency has happened on Bobby’s watch. People have died, catastrophes have changed everything, but many more lives have been saved. It’s an average day on the job, but as Season 8 draws to a close, it’s left a bitter taste in fans’ mouths.
After the two-episode contagion storyline in which an evil scientist sets a lab on fire and unintentionally leaks a deadly virus, four members of the squad were on death’s door. However, it was Bobby who met his maker, hiding his illness from the others so Chimey – our red herring for the chop – was able to receive a life-saving antidote.
Given this has all happened before the season finale has even aired, 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 16 is going to be an emotional one. In fact, the first look is so emotional, it’s following the heart-breaking funeral we already don’t want to attend.
Bobby’s heartbreaking funeral brings 9-1-1 Season 8 to a close
Titled ‘The Last Alarm,’ 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 16 – i.e., the season finale – will focus on Bobby’s funeral, according to the new trailer.
There’s a small reprieve, though: fans have to wait until May 1, 2025, to see Season 8 wrap up for good. This means you’ve got two weeks to get your emotions in check before the big day (or at least try to, anyway).
Following on from the lab disaster, there’s some interesting dynamics at play. We see Chimey blame Bobby for his own death instead of himself, telling Buck, “He gave his life so I could live… I’m just not sure what I’m supposed to do with that.”

Understandably, Athena is also struggling to cope in the wake of Bobby’s death. While she’s seen stoically walking down the street as part of the funeral procession, she later tells her loved ones, “He’s not supposed to be dead… he’s just left me.”
The 9-1-1 Season 8 finale promises to be an “emotional” one, with fans already beside themselves about how they’re going to watch.

One YouTube comment said, “An hour later, still crying. Bobby is the perfect example of what it means to be a true leader. RIP, Captain Nash.” Another weighed in: “I can’t believe Bobby is dead. The 118 lost their selfless leader and captain, Athena lost her soulmate and the love of her, LA lost a hero and now the 118 will need a new leader.
“I will never forget what Bobby did for his team and everyone he loved and cared about. Rest In Peace Bobby we will miss you all the time on the series.”
Others can’t believe the storyline is actually real. As a third fan puts is, “So Maddie can survive a LITERAL throat slit this season but Bobby is actually dead??? I’m in denial until we actually see his body in the casket. They didn’t even show him in the body bag.”
Don’t get your hopes up too much though, as Bobby is definitely gone. As showrunner Tim Minnear confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter, “Once I started thinking that somebody had to die, then the choice was, who? And the only choice that I thought made sense was Bobby. It makes sense for his character to have a tragic sacrifice as a conclusion of his entire journey in the show.
“And also, if there’s a character whose death is going to affect the most characters, who would that be? So, go big or go home.”
