Olympian Daley Thompson has become the third contestant to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house saying he âwouldâve liked to have stayed longerâ.
As the 66-year-old two-time decathlon gold medallist left the ITV reality show, he told his fellow housemates his time on the show had âbeen a blastâ adding he would see them âat the wrap-up partyâ.
Asked how he was feeling by presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best, Thompson said: âIâm very well. Honestly it is fantastic in there, honestly if you get a chance you should spend a couple of weeks in there.â
Speaking about his time in the house, Thompson continued: âI wouldâve liked to have stayed longer, but I was quite happy to come out, because the problem with it is, that no matter what goes on in there, itâs you lot out here.
âTheyâve (the audience) been incredible, I couldnât believe all the cheering.
âI didnât have high hopes for them in there (his fellow contestants), but they have been funny, they have been just revealing they are great people.â
Thompson faced the public vote after receiving four nominations, from former CBBC presenter Angellica Bell, ITV racing presenter and former Love Island star Chris Hughes, actress and comedian Donna Preston and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer in Thursdayâs episode.
Those who nominated him raised questions about the amount of housework he was doing, and accused him of not being willing to do the washing up.
Asked whether he was surprised by their nominations, Thompson joked: âNo, none of them surprised me, because theyâre all rats.â
Thompson shot to fame when he set a then-world record in the decathlon at the 1984 Los Angeles games and won the BBC Sports Personality prize that same year.
Before the showâs conclusion, Thompson was asked what his favourite moment in the house was, to which he replied: âIt wasnât one thing, but it was actually just after three or four days, itâs easier to get to know people because they relax a bit, and everybody in there actually are really nice people.
âItâs just that some want to win a bit more than others.â
Elsewhere in the episode, the housemates were challenged to dress up as cats and complete feline tasks to win prizes, with Big Brother telling them they must eat and drink like cats.
Hughes and former Dance Moms star and singer JoJo Siwa had to be reminded they could use the normal toilet by Big Brother, after they urinated in a human sized cat litter tray, and then used their hands to cover it up.
Hughes was the first to use the litter tray telling Siwa: âCan you block the door and Iâll have a little wee, donât tell anyone Iâve weeâd though, but wait a minute, because youâre giving me stage fright.â
Thompsonâs eviction comes after TV presenter Trisha Goddard left during Tuesdayâs show, and Sir Michael Fabricant, a former Tory MP, left in the showâs first eviction.
Hollywood star Mickey Rourke also left after he agreed to go following âfurther use of inappropriate languageâ and âinstances of unacceptable behaviourâ.
Celebrity Big Brother returns on Sunday at 10pm on ITV and ITVX.
