Meghan Markle has paid a subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, during her Netflix programme, With Love, Meghan. The Duchess of Sussex released the eight-part series, packed full of her very own tips for party planning, cooking, gardening and entertaining, on 4th March. Throughout the episodes, the royal mother-of-two is elegant in a wardrobe of cream knits and white linens, pairing some of her favourite designer items with more affordable pieces. However, it's a necklace worn in the first episode which appears to be a particularly poignant choice by the Duchess.
As Meghan sets about putting together a crudité plate filled with carrots, cucumbers and peas, a delicate gold necklace can be seen hanging around her neck.

The Queen Water Drop Moonstone Necklace with Sprinkled Diamonds by Logan Hollowell is described online as bringing ‘good fortune’ and ‘bringing success in love as well as business matters’, as well as ‘offering protection on land and at sea.’ It also, strikingly, describes the moonstone as being ‘associated with the moon and was the stone of the goddess Diana.’

The online description continues, ‘Moonstone is a very personal stone. It is a reflection of the person who owns it. It does not add or detract, only shows how it is. This is why the moonstone is said to perceive that which "is".
'Moonstone is an excellent stone to use in meditation to understand oneself. Placing it in the moonlight of a moon reaching its fullness, not a full or waning moon, can revitalize it. This is a particularly good gemstone for women. It is a good stone for young women or teenagers.’

Typically, the Duchess of Sussex prefers understated jewellery and has become known for her signature delicate gold stacking pieces. She has often worn jewellery which once belonged to Diana, including her show-stopping aquamarine ring. Asprey made the jewel for Diana, Princess of Wales in the 1990s, with the late royal wearing the piece for the first time during her 1996 tour of Australia. The Duchess went on to wear the ring for her wedding reception at Frogmore House in May 2018, as well as for a glittering dinner in Tonga, during her and Prince Harry’s tour later that year. At the time Meghan Markle was in the early stages of pregnancy with her son, Archie, now three, who was born in May 2019.
