Adolescence star heaps praise on 'wonderful' young co-star amid season 2 rumours

Adolescence star Christine Tremarco labelled her young co-star as "wonderful" during a live TV interview on Lorraine as she addressed rumours of there being a second season.
The crime drama centres around 13-year-old Jamie who is arrested on suspicion of murdering a schoolmate. It's a difficult watch as Jamie is bought into the police station as he's questioned about his potential involvement in the fatal stabbing of a young girl in his class.

Article continues belowIt's a limited four-part series designed to making an impact on viewers as it tackles the growing rise of misogyny in young men due to the online content they are being exposed to.
It was dubbed a "must watch" by many viewers after it first aired on the streaming platform. The series comments on the rise of "incel culture" and "red pill" content, with young men throughout the show referring to the "80/20 rule" - that 80% of women are attracted to only 20% of men.

During Monday (24th March), host Lorraine Kelly sat down with Christine as she mentioned the show had been watched by 24 million million viewers across the globe, to which Christine admitted that she knew the show was good when she read the script, but the level of response and discussion was unexpected.
Speaking about her long-standing friendship with Stephen Graham, she shared: "Me and Stephen have known each other since we were kids. Our mums were best friends when we were growing up in Kirby. So, I think that our friendship, without a doubt, lent itself to Manda and Eddie and their relationship.
"But also, with Stephen, the creator and co-writer of the show, with the brilliant Jack Thorne. And then we've got Phil Barantini, who is from Huyton in Liverpool. I've known Phil for a long time too."

Stephen wanted to create Adolescence after learning of the sudden increase in violent knife crime in Britain, and he worked alongside writer Jack Thorne to bring it to life.
Lorraine quizzed Christine on whether another series would happen, as the actress replied: "You're not alone, a couple of people have said that!
"But maybe that's a good thing, because it leaves you thinking about what would happen afterwards. But, I think this is a one-off. I think ends with episode four."

Christine also had tons of praise for the cast and crew of the Netflix drama, particularly young co-star Owen Cooper who took on the challenging role of Jamie Miller.
She continued: "He'd never acted on camera... It was a wonderful cast and a fantastic crew. Owen had never acted on camera before but neither had Amélie who plays our daughter.
"Owen turns up episode three, he turns up on the first day and that was first episode shot of the series... He knew all of his dialogue."
