Adrien Brodyâs âThe Brutalistâ makeup artist tried to remove his nose
The actor said it was good for his "talk show repertoire"
The Brutalist star Adrien Brody recalled a moment during the making of the film when a make-up artist mistook his nose from prosthetic make-up.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor, who is nominated for an Oscar his role as a Hungarian architect struggling to survive in America, recalled preparing for a scene that required him to wear prosthetic ageing make up.
He said: âThey had to do a prosthetic procedure, and itâs funny â everyoneâs very busy, itâs a movie with a lot of moving pieces. I had a new team of people who I had never met, and they were removing this apparatus all over meâ.
He continued: âThis one woman was busily working away with a solvent on my nose, sheâs just working away. I said âare you trying to remove that?â And she said âyesâ! I said âthat doesnât come off!â Then she says âoh Iâm so sorry, Iâm so sorryâ. Then she goes âthis is going in my diary!ââ

Although bemused by the encounter, Brody confessed that heâs glad he has an anecdote for his âtalk show repertoireâ. The actor is currently looking to secure his second Oscar, after having become the youngest winner of the Best Actor award when he won for 2002âs The Pianist, aged 29.
The Brutalist is competing in 10 categories at the forthcoming Academy Awards, which take place on March 2 in Los Angeles. Recently, director Brady Corbet defended Brodyâs performance after it was revealed AI was used to adjust his Hungarian lines.

In January, the actor won a Golden Globe for his performance, becoming emotional as he dedicated the win to his girlfriend, saying: âI would not be standing here before you if it wasnât for you.â
