TV viewers have been left in shock at the latest adaptation of Agatha Christie's Towards Zero.
BBC fans watched on as the second episode of the series took to the air on Sunday evening. But there was one X-rated scene that left viewers aghast as Neville Strange, played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Ella Lily Hyland's character Audrey got close and personal.
It was branded the steamiest ever moment on one of the book's adaptations as the former married couple got heated on a staircase. Neville was seen lifting his ex onto his shoulders before putting his head up her skirt and performing oral sex. Neville was caught in the act by his wife Kay, who is played by Mimi Keefe.

And viewers were stunned to watch such a scene in the adaptation. On Twitter/X, one user wrote: "'B****y hell, on the staircase (watching with my parents)': 'Well that mid stair ******** will be known in our house henceforth as "having your cake and eating it". Miss Marple will be clutching her pearl necklace at the very thought."
Despite the raunchy scenes, viewers branded the three-part BBC One series the "'slowest thing I've ever seen". One user wrote: "Caught up with Towards Zero. Agree with the mass thumbs down, though wasn't hugely surprised - the BBC adaptions go out of their to be unlike ITV ones. Agatha Christine's genius mixed glamour, observation and intrigue. Not grumpy faces and oral sex halfway up the stairs."
Another user jibed: "So thrilling, that even the detective is drifting off mid-interviews #TowardsZero," while a third said: "Can only hope once the murder happens that everything we've had to sit through already is incredibly important and relevant because my, my, this is quite the Sunday night slog #TowardsZero."
A fourth added the slow burner was why "you don't stretch Agatha Christie into 3 hours because you get a bore-fest".
It wasn't all doom and gloom for the show, with some appreciating the series. "Tonight's episode of #TowardsZero intensified in a good way," wrote one fan. "It's become more interesting and quite dark. "
The story revolves around British tennis star Neville Strange and his ex-wife Audrey, who make the surprising decision to spend a summer together at their childhood Devon home, Gull's Point, following their scandalous divorce. As the tale goes on, an "explosive love triangle" and "deadly web of jealousy and deceit" ensue. This leads to a murder at the coastal residence.
As well as the main cast, Jackie Clune takes on the character of Mrs Barrett, with Grace Doherty as Sylvia and Jack Farthing portraying Thomas Royde. Anjelica Huston is also cast in the role of Camilla, Lady Tressilian
