Alan Titchmarsh's row with Tommy Walsh on Ground Force that 'got a bit hairy'
The gardening expert said the spat saw Charlie Dimmock 'keep her head down'
Alan Titchmarsh has recounted a fiery spat with Ground Force colleague Tommy Walsh that left him seething.
Despite enjoying a robust partnership, they once locked horns during the filming of an episode of the hit BBC gardening show, which resulted in Alan "fuming" about Tommy's blunder.
Ground Force, which delivered stunning garden transformations from 1997 to 2005, became a television sensation, boasting up to 12 million viewers at its peak.
Alan divulged that one particularly vexing ordeal occurred in 2000 in Pitsea, Essex.

Amidst the garden revamp, sawdust from Tommy's carpentry work scattered over Alan's carefully sown flower beds, much to his chagrin.
Known for his meticulous standards, Alan expressed his displeasure to Radio Times: "Call me picky if you like, but I like my Ground Force gardens to be pristine when we finish them...I do not get a thrill from seeing them covered in dandruff."
Tommy, taken aback by Alan's vehement response, acknowledged the tension that ensued. "For a while, it did get a bit hairy," he confessed.
The confrontation rendered their fellow presenter Charlie Dimmock momentarily mute, as Alan remembered: "She just kept her head down and fiddled with her water feature."
After the disagreement, the duo soon reconciled. "When we'd both calmed down, we actually kissed (yes) and made up," Tommy quipped.
Alan's TV career has flourished with high-profile gigs presenting Love Your Garden and Songs of Praise, even hosting his self-titled ITV chat show and flaunting his vocal prowess on All Star Musicals in 2019.
Tommy Walsh kept himself visible on the home improvement television scene, leading programmes like Cowboys and Angels, Tommy's Ultimate Workshop, and Flip That House with Tommy Walsh.
He has also been co-presenting on Homes Under the Hammer more recently and fronted the Clean It, Fix It series for BBC.
Charlie Dimmock has stuck with her green-fingered pursuits, headlining programmes including The Joy of Gardening and Charlie's Garden Army, and had a culinary stint on Celebrity MasterChef in 2006.

Nowadays, she's at the helm of BBC's Garden Rescue, still staying connected with her old Ground Force crew.
Charlie shared: "I haven't seen them recently, but we're still in contact. Occasionally we chat or bump into each other.
"Tommy teases me that we're getting old now, which is true, but we have loads of happy memories of filming – lots and lots of laughter."
