Alex Scott and Jess Glynne stun at BRITs after sad confession about relationship
Alex Scott and Jess Glynne looked as loved up as ever on the red carpet of the 2025 BRIT Awards - arriving at the music ceremony after a sad admission was shared about their romance
Alex Scott and Jess Glynne stood out on the BRIT Awards red carpet - after a sad confession about their relationship was revealed.
On Saturday night, the 40-year-old footballer turned pundit and the 35-year-old Rather Be singer were among guests at London's O2 arena where the 2025 BRIT Awards were taking place. Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the ceremony was set to see bands and singers battle it out for a string of gongs - with Charli XCX the one to beat as she was nominated in five categories after already being crowned the winner of the Songwriter of the Year award ahead of the ceremony.

Walking the red carpet hand-in-hand, Alex looked chic in a sleeveless black and white halterneck dress which draped around her heels with a fishtail effect. While Jess stunned in a strapless, burnt orange-coloured ballgown that billowed around her - while her neck was adorned with eye-grabbing jewellery.

The duo, who have been dating since the summer of 2023, were set to be entertained on the night by performers including Sabrina Carpenter and Sam Fender. Their arrival at the event came after Alex candidly confessed she found it difficult to show affection after being raised in an abusive home.

The footballing legend has previously described her father, Tony, as "stupidly cruel" and told The Times that he physically and mentally abused her family - allegations he has strenuously denied. The BBC star told the publication: "We weren't allowed to express emotion. Dad didn't allow us to hug each other or say 'I love you'. It had a huge impact on us all. To this day, if I want to show people love, I'll do it by taking them out to dinner and paying. I remember one of the first times Jess hugged me. I was like... [rigid]. She was like, 'Are you not going to put your arms around me?' But I didn't know how to do that."
She also discussed the fact she had gone public with her relationship with Glynne, Scott reflected: "It took us a while because we knew what we have is so special, so it has been about trying to protect that and keep that for us in such a way that it continues to be beautiful."

Denying Alex's allegations, her father said: "I have no idea why she's saying all this stuff. I was raised in a strict but loving Jamaican family and Alex should know what they are like. I taught her discipline, I did a lot to help her."
Meanwhile, Jess previously told outlets that she preferred keeping her romantic life private. She told the Daily Mail: "I've never ever confirmed that I'm in a relationship with anyone. I've always made a conscious effort to keep something for myself. I'll never change that. My friendships, family, relationships, those are mine. Love who you love, be you and be happy. But it's a very brutal world and outside judgement is never easy. When someone says, 'Well, what are you? Heterosexual, bisexual, queer?', I'm like, 'Why does that matter to you?'"
