In an ITV news segment on Thursday, a number of women made the accusations against the broadcaster, calling his alleged behaviour over the previous 12 years “distressing” and “horrendous”.
ITV News claims that, despite knowing that D'Acampo's behaviour had been repeatedly complained about by employees, at least one production company still collaborated with him on other TV projects.
D'Acampo's attorneys told ITV in a statement that he denied the accusations and that he thought some of the assertions made in the ITV news piece were “fabricated works of fiction” and the allegations were “deeply upsetting”.
But what allegations have been put forward against the TV personality?
All the allegations made against Gino D'Acampo
Hannah
Using the pseudonym Hannah, one woman recounted an unsettling incident that allegedly happened during a 2011 magazine shoot.
She alleges that D'Acampo humiliated her by making an explicit sexual remark in front of a whole crew, saying he would “like to turn me over and f*** me up the a*** against the kitchen counter”.
While others “looked nervously into their cups of tea” she said, “I remember a ripple of laughter.”
Hannah acknowledged she was shocked and horrified by the incident, but she also acknowledged that she wasn't shocked no one stepped in to stop it.
His legal team told ITV: “This allegation from almost 15 years ago has never, until now via a media request, been raised or put to Mr D'Acampo. He does not recall it, nor accept that it happened.”
Natalie
Under the pseudonym Natalie, another woman described a disturbing incident that allegedly happened as she was preparing D'Acampo for a location shoot.
“He opened the door in his boxer shorts, nothing else. And jumped on the bed and was sort of - leg up.
“We had to sort of sit there facing him and he made, you know, reference to his d***, basically saying, ‘Oh, don't worry, it's only small’, and sort of flicking it.”
Natalie said she was “disgusted” and accused the TV chef of acting improperly because of his status.
She claimed it caused her to think about quitting her work. “I didn't want to do it any more. Didn't want to do the production, didn't want to be anywhere near him,” she added.
D'Acampo's legal team strongly denied this version of events: “To his knowledge, no such allegations have been made against him in relation to Gino's Italian Express.
“This is the first time – six years later – that he has been informed of these alleged incidents, which he categorically denies.”
Former colleague
A former coworker also claimed that D'Acampo confronted a young crew member over ice cream in 2019.
Two crew members who witnessed the alleged incident came forward to ITV and told the broadcaster: “I was present when Gino said to the runner, 'If you don't get me a Cornetto, I will f*** your girlfriend”, while a second witness said the remark had “stuck in my head for years”.
She added: “He was using his power to bully and intimidate us. For what? A cookery programme.”
D'Acampo's representatives said the broadcaster was “mortified” by the accusation and “does not recall this incident at all”.
Gordon, Gino and Fred's Road Trip in 2018
According to a woman named Lena: “Without saying hello or good morning, he just loudly announced he felt like f****** that morning.”
D'Acampo allegedly made a crude remark about a female coworker's chest, according to another crew member, saying: “Shouldn't we be talking about her t***? They're perfect, like a mouthful.”
It has recently come to light that as early as 2018, D'Acampo's complaints were known to Objective Media Group, the production firm behind Gordon, Gino, and Fred’s Road Trip.
Concerns regarding D'Acampo's behaviour were brought up with Objective Media Group, according to emails acquired by ITV News in December 2024.
The business responded by acknowledging that “bespoke training” was given and that he was “spoken to” about his off-screen behaviour.
What has ITV said?
An ITV spokesperson said in a statement: “All of the concerns and complaints raised by those who have spoken to ITN describe behaviour which is inappropriate and unacceptable. Most of them were not reported to ITV at the time.
“Where issues have been raised with ITV, action has been taken. We can only act where we know that concerns have been raised, and will now be following up on those that had not previously been reported to us.”
