Allison Kuch is looking back at a pivotal time in her love story.
During an interview with Alex Cooper during Super Bowl week in New Orleans, the football wife sat down with the Call Her Daddy podcast host and opened up about her relationship with her recently retired NFL star husband Isaac Rochell.
In the episode, which premiered on SiriusXM's Alex Cooper Live from New Orleans series on Feb. 11, Cooper chats with Kuch about the realities of being an NFL wife day to day. At one point in the conversation, she reveals a gap in their longtime relationship that started in college.
Rochell played football at Michigan State University and Kuch attended the University of Notre Dame, where the two met in 2014 at a house party. After their love-at-first-sight encounter, they went on a coffee date soon after and started dating two weeks later.

While the two have gone the distance, Kuch told Cooper that their relationship timeline included a six-month break after Rochell made his transition to pro football. The athlete was selected seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
"So we met in college at Notre Dame. He went to Notre Dame. I went to Michigan State, and the rest is history, except we broke up for like six months, somewhere in there," Kuch told Cooper in New Orleans.
Cooper, who thought her decision was "interesting," asked her to explain.

"I'm all for taking a break," Kuch replied. "Well, not now, no. Now, we're kind of in it, right? Like once you have a child, it's kind of hard," she added, referencing her daughter Scottie Bee she welcomed with Rochell in December 2023.
"But I'm like, you know, maybe I'll leave for a week here and there," continued the mom of one. "But I genuinely think that taking a break was so healthy for our relationship because we met, we were 19 and then he was handed a million dollars when he got drafted."
"I was still in college," Koch continued. "So it's just, it was such a weird experience. So I think we had to like, grow apart for a second and then come back."

Rochell and Kuch secretly eloped in December 2020 before tying the knot on April 11, 2021, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. On social media, Kuch described the moment as the âbest day of my life."
The couple have been supportive of each other's careers, speaking about one another on social media and on podcasts. Prior to Rochell's retirement from the NFL in February 2025, Koch was a staple on the sidelines and cheered him on at games.
Much of Kuch's social media content involved documenting her life as an NFL wife both at the stadium and at home. Recently, the couple signed with UTA to represent them in all areas and help them "expand into audio, unscripted TV and other business ventures."
