Amad breaks silence on huge Man United injury blow in emotional statement
Latest Manchester United news with Amad revealing he has indeed picked up an injury
Manchester United star Amad has confirmed reports that he will miss a significant period through injury. On Saturday afternoon, it was claimed the United attacker had suffered ankle ligament damage and could therefore miss the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Though he could still feature before the end of May, Amad has revealed that he has indeed picked up an injury. "Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season," he wrote on Instagram. "Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury.
"I will come back stronger than ever!! Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for." Ruben Amorim's side face Tottenham this weekend with Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer and Manuel Ugarte among those that could also miss out.
Ahead of the trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Amorim hinted at some issues and with four new blows emerging, it will seemingly be a depleted squad that travel down to north London. "No, was a good week until two days ago," Amorim said on Friday.
"We had some problems also. So we donât have players back, maybe we have one or two issues but we are waiting. We have one player also who is sick so we will see the team at the weekend. But was good to work with the team, to feel the players and to try to improve our performance."
Amad has been superb since the arrival of Amorim with 11 goal contributions picked up over the last few months. The 22-year-old has been utilised at wing-back and as part of the front three with regular strong performances arriving in that time.
Having allowed Marcus Rashford and Antony to depart on loan, a front three of Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee against Spurs is likely. Assuming all three midfielders also miss out, Bruno Fernandes will likely be partnered in the engine room by former Tottenham man Christian Eriksen.
