Amanda Abbington says 'I don't regret what happened' after 'tricky' year
Amanda Abbington appeared on ITV's This Morning on Monday (March 17) to discuss her new play (This Is Not A) Happy Room and became emotional as she spoke about the past year
Strictly Come Dancing's Amanda Abbington was seen holding back tears as she discussed her "tricky" year.
The Sherlock actress made an appearance on ITV's This Morning on Monday (March 17), where she chatted with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about her new play, (This Is Not A) Happy Room.
During the chat, Cat remarked: "It's so nice to see you, you look so good. And when you say, 'It's a really joyful play,' you can see it in you after quite a tricky year."
Discussing the hurdles she's faced since leaving Strictly in 2023, Amanda shared: "It's been tricky. We don't want to go over old ground obviously, because that was done and I'm happy with what happened.
"Well, not happy, but I don't regret what happened, and it's time to move on for everybody now.", reports Wales Online.

She then became noticeably emotional, adding: "It was one of the hardest years of my entire life, and having to battle that was tricky, but it's good. Onwards."
Cat continued to express her delight at seeing Amanda looking "all sparkly and twinkly again", which Amanda credited to having 11 puppies at home.
Amanda was paired with Giovanni Pernice on Strictly in 2023, but left the show midway through the series due to "medical reasons".
She later alleged that she was subjected to a "toxic environment" while participating on the BBC One show, accusing her professional partner of misconduct during training sessions - allegations which Giovanni strongly denies.

In a dramatic turn of events last September, the BBC disclosed that their investigation corroborated "some but not all" of Amanda's claims about her training experiences with Giovanni.
BBC's own news segment later uncovered that while the evaluation endorsed accusations of verbal bullying and harassment, there was no evidence found for physical aggression.

Amanda embraced the BBC's statement of regret, heralding it as "a vindication" of her stand, and she emphasised: "What matters most now is that lessons have been learned."
On the flip side, Giovanni released a personal declaration, signalling his relief that the "serious allegations" against him were disproven.
In an Instagram post, he reflected on the past several months: "It's over. It's finished. Six months, seven months of all of this,".
He continued, sharing his contentment, "But today I'm happy because, you know, at the beginning there were very, very serious allegations thrown out at me but as in today, none of the serious allegations have been upheld. All the threatening, abusive, harassment behaviour allegations have not been upheld."
With a sense of closure, Giovanni wrapped up saying: "I'm happy because today I can carry on to do what I was born to do, and I love to do which is entertain all of you, because this is my life."
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
