Anitta Documentary, ‘El Eternauta’ Premiere Date Revealed as Netflix Previews 2025 Latin America Slate
Netfix unveiled a new Anitta documentary and the premiere date for "El Eternauta" as part of its Latin America 2025 slate.
During its Next on Netflix event, the streamer unveiled plenty of news for its Latin American markets, including a new Anitta documentary and the premiere date for “El Eternauta,” its ambitious adaptation of the Argentinian sci-fi graphic novel of the same name.
“El Eternauta,” which is headlined by one of Argentina’s biggest movie stars Ricardo Darín (“The Secrets in Their Eyes”), signals the streamer’s ambition to venture into different genres in Latin America. “El Eternauta” will premiere globally on April 30.
Set in the aftermath of a devastating toxic snowfall kills millions, the series is helmed by Bruno Stagnaro and stars Darín as Juan Salvo, who joins forces with a group of survivors in Buenos Aires to resist the invisible threat.
In Brazil, it was revealed that an intimate new documentary on Anitta, the country’s biggest pop star, is currently in production. “Larissa: The Other Side of Anitta” is set to premiere this year. See first-look photos below.

Francisco Ramos, VP of of content for Latin America, said the title reflected the streamer’s mandate to tell “authentic stories that represent the local culture while serving different tastes.”
Meanwhile in Mexico, Netflix teased a series about the late Mexican singing idol Juan Gabriel directed by seasoned documentary director María José Cuevas.
