The first candidate fired from The Apprentice has vowed to make her business a success without Lord Sugar - and has ploughed in her own money to make it happen.
Emma Rothwell, originally from Accrington but now based in Essex, didn't get close to winning Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment for her online gift store.
But the business plan she made for the BBC1 series inspired her to make it her full time job. Emma, 30, said: "I loved going on The Apprentice because I had to write a business plan. Up until now, I've been kind of winging it so having to write what I need and stuff, and actually going forward with my business plan and investing my own money, it will be happening a lot slower, but the are wheels in the motion now. I am inspired now and motivated to prove people wrong."
Her business is selling mugs and her website allows people to upload their own designs and she will then sell it, promote it, ship it, and they'll get commission on sales. "The better ones that sell tend to be the relatable ones - something making people laugh, feel positive, or representing a memory," she said.

On The Apprentice last night, the task saw the two teams running alpine tours in Austria and selling tickets for them to make a profit. Emma's team all flopped when it came to selling, but she paid the ultimate price.
In the boardroom, Lord Sugar said: “Emma, you haven’t sold any tickets, and you haven’t explained to me what in fact you did do. It’s difficult but my gut feeling is telling me, Emma, it is with regret, you’re fired.”
Looking back on the task and who was to blame, Emma said: "We were super unlucky. Everyone gave it their all, as you would in that situation. Maybe we could have stopped slightly different people on reflection, in certain parts, but the other team were really close to us, and I think they were managing to stop people just before us to sell. It was a group struggle, if that makes sense."
She added: "The biggest thing I would change about my time there would be to fight more in the boardroom. I feel like when there was the final speeches, I didn't realise it was happening and obviously then it went to the other candidates, and they gave a big spiel, and I was like 'Oh no'.
"I learned from the show just to stand up for myself a little bit more. I am good at business but I just didn't get a chance to show what I can do, because my strengths are marketing and I have a first class honours degree in product design, so any product-based tasks I would have smashed.
"Hopefully in a few years time the headline will be I was voted off first in The Apprentice but I am now making millions."
