The Schwarzenegger-Shriver family put on a united front for Patrick Schwarzeneggerâs turn in HBOâs The White Lotus season 3. His parents, sister, brother-in-law, and fiancĂŠe all walked the red carpet at the LA premiere. But Arnold Schwarzenegger was notably separate from the rest of the clan.

Patrick called being cast in Season 3 of The White Lotus a âdream come true.â The same week the 31-year-old got engaged to fiancĂŠe Abby Champion, he received the news. But he wasnât allowed to tell his parents or siblings yet. While the newly engaged couple spent time at a Schwarzenegger-Shriver family gathering, Patrick told Today, he managed to keep his casting a secret. The group felt he was acting weird, so his mom, Maria Shriver, conjured up a theory. Patrick and Abby were pregnant.

Eventually, Patrick was allowed to set his family straight. No pregnancy, but he was going to star in one of the hottest HBO series of the last decade. They were not only thrilled but they promised to visit as he filmed for nearly seven months in Thailand. â[Mom] came out, my brother came out, my sister came out, which was really sweet,â he told Today. âThey came in June, so month five [of filming], the last few months.â

On Monday night, the Schwarzenegger-Shriver family couldnât miss The White Lotus premiere in Los Angeles either. The group included Patrickâs fiancĂŠe Abby, mom Maria, brother Chris, sister Christina, sister Katherine, and Katherineâs husband of over five years, Chris Pratt. They walked the red carpet, pausing to take family photos together. Although Patrickâs famously divorced parents were both there, Arnold did not take photos with his ex-wife and their children. Instead he walked the red carpet on his own, taking a few photos with Patrick before going inside.

Arnold did not greet his ex-wife and their children on the red carpet. But they likely chatted amicably inside. In 2023, the former California governor told The Hollywood Reporter, âI love my wife. She and I are really good friends and very close, and we are very proud of the way we raised our kids. Even though we had this drama, we did Easter together, Motherâs Day together, the Christmases together, all birthdays â everything together. If thereâs Oscars for how to handle divorce, Maria and I should get it for having the least amount of impact on the kids.â

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver finalized their length divorce in December 2021. The couple had separated 10 years earlier when she discovered that The Terminator star had fathered a child with their former housekeeper. Why did proceedings take a decade? The couple forwent a prenuptial agreement when they wed in 1986. By 2011, the pair reportedly shared a $400 million net worth, reports UPI. Arnold and Maria chose to parse through in court, privately and thoughtfully.

Arnold thoroughly enjoyed the premiere of The White Lotus. He took to Instagram to share his thoughts on his sonâs role in the black comedy drama. The 77-year-old wrote, âI was so pumped to take a break from filming to celebrate @patrickschwarzenegger at the White Lotus Season 3 premiere. What a show! I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say â the apple doesnât fall far from the tree. Donât miss it this Sunday â trust me.â
You can catch The White Lotus on HBO and Max beginning February 16 at 9 pm ET. Remaining episodes will air weekly on Sundays.
