Axel Rudakubana contacted Childline in October 2019 and asked, 'What should I do if I want to kill somebody?', prosecutors have said.Â
Rudakubana is due to be sentenced today, January 23, after pleading guilty to murdering Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, in July last year. He was 17 at the time.Â
During the hearing on Wednesday, the prosecutor said that on October 4, 2019, Rudakubana contacted Childline and asked: âWhat should I do if I want to kill somebody?â
Deanna Heer said: âIn the days that followed he explained that he hated someone at school whoâd bullied him.
âHe felt angry and wanted to kill them. He said he had taken a knife to school but would only use it if the person really annoyed him.âÂ
The court was told that, as a result, a referral was made to the police, who visited the defendant at home. He confirmed that he had taken a knife to school and added that he thought he would use it if he became angry.
The school was informed, but by this stage, Rudakubana had been temporarily excluded after attacking a pupil with a hockey stick. When he admitted taking a knife to school on about 10 previous occasions, his exclusion was made permanent.
