BBC Breakfast: Charlie apologises for tech issues
BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt was left red-faced and issuing an apology to viewers following an unfortunate mishap during the show's broadcast on Friday (March 14).
Charlie and Nina Warhurst fronted the morning programme, which experienced a technical hiccup during weatherman Matt Taylor's live segment from Cheltenham. The sound difficulties abruptly halted Matt's update, forcing the camera to switch back to the studio where Charlie and Nina quickly had to improvise.
Article continues below"OK, my apologies. We seem to have... Matt is still talking, we can't hear him! That's a problem," declared Charlie.
He humourously added: "Matt, I think you could hear me then, which is slightly awkward because he's still there listening now."

Do we go back to Matt? No, we're going to leave that for the time. We will get a full weather forecast from Cheltenham with Matt and we'll get all of that sorted out."
Nina interjected her concern for the audience, saying: "We know how important the weather is to everyone watching!"
The on-air snafu sparked a response from audiences on social media. A number suggested that in future, it might be wiser for the weather updates to take place within the safety of the studio rather than on location, reports the Express.
"So we can't hear Matt the weather guy who's at Cheltenham for some reason. Suggestion - stay in the studio next time. #bbcbreakfast," commented one viewer on social media. A second said: "#bbcbreakfast Why did he need to be in Cheltenham? Now we can't hear him.. T**s..." (sic)
Following a small on-air hiccup, Matt made a swift return to BBC Breakfast, this time accompanied by Mike Bushell live from the Cheltenham Racecourse.

Without missing a beat, Mike and Matt wrapped up their segment in haste, dodging the equine interlopers with fits of laughter as they scooted away.

It’s been two years since we last heard from Ted Lasso but the show is officially set to return for a fourth season. Apple TV announced the beloved character’s return on Friday. It stars Jason Sudeikis as an American coach of a U.K. soccer team and is based on a character he played in promos for NBC Sports. The series premiered in 2020 and went on to win seven Primetime Emmy Awards in its first three seasons. The series made stars of its supporting cast, including Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple. Sudeikis is hinting the new season will be about taking chances.
