Taking to social media to share the news with her followers according to the Mirror, Nina expressed excitement about the upcoming change: "Hanging up the high-viz and hairnet as I join the BBC's News at One," she wrote.
Reflecting on her journey, she added: "Our London team built a gem of a programme and it's a privilege to be on the Salford team taking it forward. The teenage me who lived half a mile from here and dreamed of journalism would NOT believe it."
Peers and viewers alike congratulated Warhurst on her new venture. Among them was Richard Frediani, head honcho of BBC Breakfast and News, who celebrated her transition.
‌
"Delighted to welcome Nina Warhurst as a regular presenter of the News at One from April. Congratulations - a brilliant addition to the team in Salford."
Nina's fans also expressed mixed feelings over her departure from breakfast television. One fan sent good wishes yet acknowledged her absence would be felt.
‌
They wrote: "Congrats but will miss you on breakfast x," Another long-time admirer said: "Congratulations Nina. Admired your work since the channel M days."
A third chimed in with lighthearted regret: "Just going to miss a bit of your personality, charm and brilliant humour that you have to contain in reading the serious news - booooo! ! ! But really pleased for you that you are moving onto to formalise and you will be extremely good at."
‌
Nina gave birth to a baby girl called Nancy in 2023, her third child with husband Ed Fraser.
The couple already shared two sons, Digby, seven and Michael, five, before welcoming their first daughter. Co-star Sally Nugent told fans the happy news during a broadcast in March that year.
Sally said: "Some very exciting news now about our colleague Nina Warhurst, who we said goodbye to not very many days ago as she went off on maternity leave.
