BGT makes history with major voting change after judges surprised by audition
Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli were seen in Blackpool again on Britain's Got Talent for more auditions with hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly

Head judge Simon Cowell revealed that the judging panel were making history in an audition on the latest episode of Britain's Got Talent. The news came after they were surprised by an act ahead of the semi-finals of the contest.
Tonight's episode of the ITV show opened with the four judges posing for photos together on the red carpet outside the Winter Gardens in Blackpool ahead of more auditions. They appeared surprised moments later when people in the crowd began to sing before they entered the theatre.

Article continues belowPop Voices Choir performed a rendition of the Electric Light Orchestra's song Mr. Blue Sky. The choir, which is said to include almost 300 people, were auditioning for BGT and ended up being sent through to the next round.
Simon, as well as fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli looked surprised as the choir sang for them outside the venue. Hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly were seen watching from the sidelines.
Following the performance, Dec teased: "I've always wanted to do this - let's take a vote!" The four judges all agreed for the choir to make it through to the next stage of the competition before the two hosts were asked to vote too.

After sharing his feedback, Bruno said: "I think it's a yes." Alesha told the group: "It's a massive yes from me." Whilst Amanda commented as she shared her verdict: "Definitely yes from me." Simon later confirmed that he agreed with them.
Encouraging Ant to join the judges and Dec, who were stood together, Simon said: "Come on, Ant! We've never done this before. Let's do a first. Come on! We've never ever in the history of Got Talent given more than four yeses."

Ant said that it was a "good point," before Simon continued: "So, you've got one, two, three, four [from the regular judges, including myself]." Moments later, presenters Ant and Dec - who aren't usually part of the judging panel, but who do get a shared golden buzzer - shared their verdicts on the act.
Ant said: "It's a yes from me." Dec took a pause and teased that he didn't agree with his co-host, before saying: "I'm only joking, of course - you've got six yeses!" He added: "Congratulations. Now let's get inside and let's start the show."

The votes came after Ant went over to speak to one member of the choir, who gave an insight into the group amid the judges sharing their feedback on the performance. It was stated that the choir are for anyone that "loves to sing".
The member said: "We are the Pop Voices Choir and it's for anybody that just loves to sing. We're an inclusive choir. I want to encourage that worldwide and it would be really nice to win." Asked how many people are in the choir, they said: "Nearly 300."
Simon said at one point following the performance outside the theatre: "I swear to God, I hadn't got a clue." Whilst Amanda said: "A massive surprise. I felt really tearful when you all started singing. It was absolutely gorgeous."

Their colleague Alesha commented: "What a lovely surprise - a colourful, joyful burst of loveliness. Well done." Bruno agreed with her, telling the group: "Absolutely. You make me feel hot and it's freezing. Unbelievable."
The new series of Britain's Got Talent continues next Saturday on ITV, ITVX, STV and STV Player from 7pm.
