BGT's Amanda Holden sobs as fans say they 'didn't see that coming'

Britain's Got Talent judges were left sobbing after a contestant's emotionally charged performance on Saturday's (March 8) show. The latest episode of TV talent show at Blackpool's Winter Gardens saw hopefuls try and impress judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and guest judge KSI.
Music teacher John Pierce, 41, originally from Wales but now living in Essex, left the audience and judges with a lump in their throats after performing his stirring rendition of the Radiohead song Creep.

Family man John, who has dreams of being a full-time singer, told the judges that he had arrived at the audition by himself. He said he had come on the show as it was his daughter's dream to see him perform on Britain's Got Talent.
But as the haunting piano intro started and he began singing the first few lines, his quivering voice caused Simon to halt the performance saying, "I think we should start this again."
The studio audience began to rally around the singer with supportive applause as Alesha Dixon shouted, "Come on John!"

As John recomposed himself, the tune started again and John began to grow into the performance with gusto.
Soon, the audience and judges were amazed by the sheer force of John's operatic rendition, which reached a stirring crescendo before he brought the audience back down to an emotional end.
The performance had the audience in wild cheers as all four judges, visibly moved, rose to their feet to applaud the 41-year-old music teacher.

Amanda Holden could be seen dabbing tears from her eyes as even Simon Cowell admitted to being made to feel "quite emotional" by John's powerful performance.
Amanda turned to Simon and said, "I just cried my eyes out" before telling John, "You just broke me then at the end".

Adding: "Your voice is unbelievable".
Alesha told John he did himself "really proud" after his shaky start, while Bruno said, "Don't ever doubt your ability".
On X, BGT viewers were equally moved by John's performance.

Needless to say, it was four yesses from the judges and the talented singer has found himself through to the next round.
