Auf Wiedersehen, Pet star Maya Woolfe has sadly died at the age of 72. The actress was known for playing Uli in the popular ITV comedy-drama series back in 1983.
The entertainment world is mourning the loss of Maya Woolfe, best known for her role in the beloved series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. The show's official social media channels announced on Friday (February 14) with sadness" that the actress had died at 72.
She appeared on some of BBC and ITV's biggest shows across her successful acting career.
Woolfe was celebrated for her portrayal of Uli in episode 11 of the first series, where she delivered "the best quote in Series 1". Her character became entangled with Oz Osborne, played by Jimmy Nail, in a mix-up over his identity, leading to a memorable exchange at The Tivoli bar.
Her career spanned several notable appearances, including roles in The Professionals, Bergerac, and as a receptionist in BBC's Doctor Who.
A statement on the official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet social media channels confirmed her tragic death.

The tribute read: "With sadness we announce the passing of Maya Woolfe who played Uli in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Series 1, Episode 11, 'The Lovers'. Maya's many TV appearances included 'The Professionals', 'Bergerac', and 'Doctor Who'.
We send our deepest sympathy to family and friends at this difficult time."
Fans have been paying tribute to Woolfe, particularly recalling her iconic line during her date with Oz. In the episode, named The Lovers, Uli, played by Maya, becomes the love intererst of Oz Osborne, portrayed by Jimmy Nail.
Their chemistry was sparked after Wayne Norris, played by Gary Holton, marks him out as a rich tycoon's son.
In conversation about his inheritance Uli says: "In the meantime you are just one of the boys?" which prompted Oz's witty comeback: "Look again, pet. One of the men."
Many took to social media to express their grief, with comments such as, "Sad news. One of the best ever episodes."
Another fan mourned the loss, stating, "Sad loss, she played her role very well."
"Sending love. One of my early loves is Auf Wiedersehen Pet x," a fourth penned.
Another penned: "Always sad when anyone from anyone from the show passes, but it's amazing how even the smallest parts are so fondly remembered. My dad had three lines in one episode, but people used to come up to him and quote one of those lines for years and years. Thank you, Maya."
She then had a role in series two of The Detectives as a secretary.
