Beyoncé gives $2.5 million for wildfire relief as entertainers including Paris Hilton, Eva Longoria and more give too
Other performers with roots in Southern California’s entertainment industry, including Michael Douglas, Paris Hilton, and various Kardashians, have also pledged contributions.
Beyoncé will donate $2.5 million for wildfire relief efforts, the superstar singer announced on her Instagram post on Monday, as other performing artists also are coming forward with cash contributions to help Southern California communities devastated by wildfires.
Beyoncé’s contribution from her BEYgood Foundation is “earmarked to aid families in the Altadena and Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” according to her online announcement.She encouraged fans to go to Beygood.org to contribute and learn more about relief efforts.
Rock band Metallica announced Monday it will donate $500,000 from its All Within My Hands Foundation. The donation will be divided equally between the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund.
That same day, actress-director Eva Longoria said she will give $1 million to relief efforts from the $50 million Courage and Civility Award she received in 2024 from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The award gives Longoria 10 years to decide which worthy organizations to support with the money. Longoria had earlier announced a personal donation of $50,000.
Longoria’s $1 million is headed to both the California Community Foundation and the Latino Community Foundation, led by Julián Castro, a former United States secretary of housing and urban development, to address immediate and long-term recovery needs for people affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires. Her $50,000 donation will match donations to This Is About Humanity for similar efforts.
Actress-singer Paris Hilton, whose Malibu home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire, said she will donate $100,000 from her 11:11 Media Impact non-profit, and another $100,000 in matching donations, to help displaced families with young children.
Last week, actress Jamie Lee Curtis was one of the first entertainers to pledge money for relief efforts, announcing a $1 million contribution, and others, including actor Michael Douglas, reality TV star Betheny Frankel, and different members of the Kardashian family, also announced plans to donate unspecified amounts.
