Beyond Paradise romance exposed for unlikely pair as BBC show drops huge clue
One Beyond Paradise pairing might finally get together after years of heartbreak in a new twist on the BBC series as it made its return tonight
One Beyond Paradise couple could have finally found love - after years of heartbreak. There has been a lot of focus on romance in the hit BBC detective drama series - a spin off of Death In Paradise - which returned to our screens this evening.
After reconnecting in Saint Marie, Humphrey and Martha decided to return to Shipton Abbot to carry on their love story. However, love hasn't been so easy for a number of other characters throughout the series.

In fact, Humphrey and Martha's relationship was tested by the arrival of Archie, who was with Martha in the past. It is clear he still had feelings for his ex, but nothing happened between them, given that Martha was very much in love.
Elsewhere, the talk of dating apps has been paramount between Martha's mum Anne and Esther's daughter Zoe, as they both search for the right one. It ended in heartbreak for Anne last series, when she found out her love interest was already married.
There has also been a budding romance between young PC Kelby Hartford and his superior, Chief Superintendent, as she even kissed his cheek last series as a thank you for his support when her grandmother was caught up in a case. However, it looks like there is no hope for the pair as the Chief Superintendent is happily with someone else, leading to Kelby to try his hand at online dating.
Dylan - who plays Kelby - explained: "We kick off with Kelby solving a mysterious case of missing sheep and then attending a wine party. He’s hoping to have a chat with the Chief Superintendent but when he sees her with another guy his face drops. It's a tough moment for him as he starts to realise that his feelings for her might be one-sided.
"He’s been like a smitten puppy around her but it’s clear she’s not reciprocating. So, this series marks a turning point for Kelby - he’s starting to accept that maybe it’s just puppy love and it’s time to move on. He gets onto the dating apps, trying to find love, with a bit of help from the gang, especially Margo, who offers some amusing dating advice."
Whilst dating doesn't seem to go quite to plan for Kelby, it looks like Esther might be having more luck - with someone she probably wasn't expecting. A scene in tonight's episode looks like returning character Archie Hughes is quite fond of Esther. As they joked about champagne, it looked like the pair were getting on - so is a romance on the cards?
Speaking about the possibility, Zahra said: "Esther is a very professional and private person. While she has an active social life with friends and hobbies, her love life is something she keeps very low-key.

"She’s selective and doesn’t openly discuss it, especially because of her job. Over the years love hasn’t been her focus, though dating and companionship in the right amounts are something she’s interested in, like most people. At this point in the series, she’s in such a good place that she’s unknowingly giving off a different kind of energy - it’s attracting a different kind of man than she’s used to."
She added: "She’s hesitant at first because this person isn’t someone she’d usually go for. But this new, more confident version of Esther thinks, 'OK, let’s see where this goes.' Things end up going further than she initially expected, which creates some challenges and forces her to think seriously about the situation. It’s not something she’s allowed herself to get into since Zoe’s dad."
