Billy Bob Thornton revealed he once recorded a duet with Johnny Cash of the late musician's track 'I Still Miss Someone'.

Billy Bob Thornton has revealed that he once recorded a duet with Johnny Cash.
The actor shared the anecdote in a new interview with The Guardian, in response to a fan asking him what it was like to meet the âI Walk The Lineâ singer.
Thornton replied that he never got over being nervous around the late musician âbecause it was like God walked in the room.â
He continued: âI stayed at his house a couple of times and I did not want to get caught in my drawers looking in his refrigerator. So I just stayed in my room all night long. But he was very kind to me. We did a duet together of one of his songs, âI Still Miss Someoneâ, that Iâve never put out.â
AdvertisementâI Still Miss Someoneâ was written by Cash and his nephew Roy Cash, Jr. in 1958, and was released as a b-side to âDonât Take Your Guns to Townâ â the lead single from his seminal album âThe Fabulous Johnny Cashâ.
Thornton went on to say: âCash said to me, âWhatâs your idea, son?â And I said, âWell, I thought weâd do the first verse and bridge and then you could do your recitation.â This was at a point where Johnny was in a little more ill health.
RecommendedâAnd I said, âThen you do the recitation and then weâll come back and do the last verse and bridge.â And he said, âYeah, that sounds good to me.â And then he said, âI might even have an idea or two myself. After all I wrote the fucking thing.â And I was like, âYes, sir, sorry.ââ
He then added that Cash âwrote a story about that day on four pieces of notebook paper.â âIt was partly truth, partly fiction,â he said. âAnd on the last page are three autographs by him: âJohn R Cash,â âJohnny Cash,â âJohn Cash.â And I said, âJohn, why did you write three autographs on that paper?â He says, âSon, if you ever get broke, cut those into three pieces and youâll be all right.â
In other Johnny Cash news, last year a statue of him was unveiled at the US Capitol. Designed and created by artist Kevin Kresse, the statue is made of bronze and stands eight feet tall.
It followed the release of the late music legendâs posthumous album âSongwriterâ â an LP of previously unreleased songs â in June.
AdvertisementAll tracks on the LP were originally recorded by Cash back in early 1993 at the LSI Studios in Nashville, with many remaining as demos. One of the tracks included was called âSpotlight, which was reimagined for the album and saw contributions from The Black Keysâ Dan Auerbach.
Elsewhere, Paul McCartney recently credited the country icon as the inspiration for him to form Wings.
âWe were in bed one night, newly married, when Johnny Cash came on the telly with a new band heâd formed with Carl Perkins, a big hero of mine. There they were, playing with some country musicians I had never heard of, looking like they were having fun,â he recalled.

As for Thornton, in December he revealed that he previously rejected offers to play Green Goblin in 2002âs Spider-Man, along with the main villain in 2005âs Mission Impossible 3.
âI donât have much interest in those kinds of roles,â Thornton admitted. âWith the Green Goblin, I didnât feel like getting up at 4 a.m. for five or six hours of makeup.â
âAnd with Mission: Impossible III, I didnât want to be the guy trying to kill Tom Cruise,â he continued. âIf youâre the bad guy in a big movie like that, audiences remember it forever. I prefer to keep things looser and less predictable.â

Will Ban Ji Sook realize Oh Doo Ri is her mother?
Following the sudden passing of her father, Ban Ji Sook (Seo Young Hee) fell into a deep state of sadness and tried to drink alone. When Oh Doo Ri saw this, she sat down with Ji Sook to share a drink. After Ji Sook became drunk, she confided her feelings to Doo Ri, whom Ji Sook mistook to be her mother. Having understood Ji Sook's true feelings, Doo Ri relayed her sincere apology to her daughter. The following day, Ji Sook learned from Choi Min Seok (In Gyo Jin) that she had a conversation with Doo Ri instead of her mother, making viewers curious if Ji Sook will realize that Doo Ri is actually her mother and whether the mother-daughter duo will resolve their misunderstanding.
The whereabouts of the missing Janet
Janet (Kim Hae Sook) began to cross off her bucket list, one by one. However, she was startled by the arrival of the mysterious taxi driver in police attire (Kim Byung Ok), who told her that she had crossed the line. Janet then left a letter to Ji Sook, telling her that she will be traveling, and disappeared. Janet also showed tears after visiting her father's grave, and the taxi driver stated that this will be the last time, raising curiosity about what his words could signify.
Oh Doo Ri's relationship with Park Joon and Daniel Han
Doo Ri, who was upset about Ji Sook, cried in Park Joon's (Yoo Jung Hoo's) arms. However, Daniel's stalker Yoo Ji Ahn (Woo Do Im), who had been watching the two through the CCTV, circulated their photo at UNIS Entertainment. Although Daniel appeared disappointed, he decided to believe Doo Ri's words when she denied having a relationship with Park Joon.
Furthermore, Doo Ri became nervous about Ji Ahn following her, but Daniel added to the tension by revealing that a suspicious vehicle was tailing them. Daniel showcased a resolute attitude, telling Doo Ri that it was finally time to end the situation, raising questions about how Joon will react to Doo Ri's relationship with Daniel and how Daniel will face off against the stalker.
