A pair of Roxbury men suspected of trafficking more than 200 grams of cocaine and 100 grams of heroin while illegally possessing guns and ammunition are in custody, according to authorities.
The Boston police arrested Jonathan Alcantara-Garcia, 40, and Niurka Pimentel-Suero, 37, both of Roxbury, on Friday following what it says was an “extensive drug investigation.”
Officers assigned to the Mattapan Drug Control Unit obtained search warrants for a residence on Guild St., in Roxbury, and established surveillance in the area before closing in on the suspects.
Officers assigned to Roxbury helped their Mattapan colleagues conduct a traffic stop when Alcantara-Garcia, who is said to have been the primary target of the investigation, left the Guild Street home and drove away.
Alcantara-Garcia was subsequently taken into custody without incident, according to BPD.
Later Friday morning, around 10:15 a.m., officers executed a search warrant at the Guild Street residence, meeting Pimentel-Suero upon entry. They found 800 grams of cocaine and 129 grams of heroin packaged in various-sized bags and a Smith & Wesson 9mm firearm equipped with a 16-round magazine, loaded with four live rounds.
Other seized items included drug paraphernalia and an “undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.”
Alcantara-Garcia and Pimentel-Suero, expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court in Roxbury, have been charged with Trafficking Cocaine (200 Grams or More), Trafficking Heroin/Morphine/Fentanyl (100 Grams or More, Less Than 200 Grams), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
