Bournemouth vs Manchester City score predicted as FA Cup fate decided
Manchester City visit Bournemouth later today, so we simulated the FA Cup clash on EA FC 25 to get a score prediction.
Manchester City will be looking to book a trip to Wembley later today as they go head-to-head with Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
After over two weeks off, Man City return to action following the international break with Pep Guardiola's side travelling to the south coast to take on Bournemouth on FA Cup weekend. A Nico O'Reilly brace followed by a Kevin De Bruyne strike saw City beat Plymouth Argyle 3-1 in the last round, with City now the favourites to win the competition following some early exits from other big competitors.

A win against Bournemouth would secure a spot in the semi-finals for Guardiola's side, but the last meeting between the two saw the Cherries win 2-1 in the Premier League, so it won't be an easy test for City. As good as Bournemouth have been this season, they've struggled in recent weeks, with their only win across their last five games coming against Wolves on penalties in the last round of the FA Cup.
So can Guardiola's side book their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend? Let's take a look...
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
‌
We predict that the Cherries could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Kepa; Cook, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Soler; Adams, Scott; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson.
We predict that City could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Ortega; Lewis, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, Gundogan; Savinho, Marmoush, Doku; Haaland.
It was City who started on top, and they should have been ahead nine minutes in when Erling Haaland was slipped through one-on-one with the keeper, but the striker could only direct his shot onto the post from close range. Haaland then hit the post again just before half-time with an acrobatic effort from a corner and moments later City were made to pay for their missed chances.
‌
After being picked out on the right, Marcus Tavernier cut inside before breezing past Jokso Gvardiol and towards goal. The winger delayed his shot twice before taking aim, and his driven effort from the edge of the box found the net, with questions being asked over Stefan Ortega who let the ball slip through his hands.
Just after the restart, Kepa brought down Haaland in the box and City won a penalty. The striker stepped up to take it, sending the keeper the wrong way to level the score. Momentum was on City's side and with 78 minutes on the clock, Guardiola's side grabbed a second.
‌
Substitute Phil Foden picked up the ball on the halfway line before driving towards goal and, under no pressure, he was allowed to shoot with Kepa getting down well to parry but Haaland was quickest to react to tap home.
Bournemouth struggled to create any sort of danger for City to deal with in the closing stages of the game, with Guardiola's side seeing out the victory.
