Brad Pitt Feels Itâs Time To Share His Side Of Bitter Divorce From Angelina Jolie(EXCLUSIVE) SEE DETAILS ???? ???? ????
Â
Angelina Jolie didnât name names. But during recent interviews promoting her movie Maria, in which she plays famed opera star Maria Callas, the Oscar winner has made what many believe are subtle references to ex-husband Brad Pitt. In December 2024, for example, she hinted at hiding âa lot of the painâ from their kids in the past. The next month, Angie, 49, talked about how much she dislikes âa liar.â Meanwhile, another January sit-down had the actress wondering how much her âlight [was] dimmedâ by challenges sheâs endured over the past few years.
Â
Â
Those last comments emerged days after she and Brad, 61, finally settled their bitter divorce battle on December 30. More than eight years have passed since she left husband No. 3, but Angelina, âcontinues to throw out these not-so-veiled jabs, and you donât have to be a rocket scientist to know who sheâs referring to,â an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. âNow that their divorce is final, Bradâs telling friends maybe itâs time to share his side.â
Â
Â
The actor isnât seeking revenge, the insider insists. But after facing so much heartbreak in the wake of their 2016 split, a brutal yearslong custody battle, and the final issue they need to resolve â lawsuits over ownership rights to their former family home and winery in France, ChĂąteau Miraval â heâs grown tired of the secrets and lies. âBrad,â says the insider, âwould really love to set the record straight.â
Â
Â
Brad Pittâs Next Chapter After His Divorce From Angelina JolieBrad will soon be sitting down for interviews of his own as he travels the world promoting F1, the summer blockbuster in which he plays a veteran Formula One race car driver. âAnd Brad knows people wonât just be asking him about the movie,â notes the insider.
Â
He has long denied Angelinaâs claims he was physically abusive to her and some of their six children â Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 â during an alcohol-fueled argument on a private plane that led her to end their two-year marriage (FBI and child services investigations also cleared him). But thereâs more to the story. âBradâs held on to a lot of secrets about Angelina â some that could change the kidsâ opinion of their mom,â warns the insider, explaining thatâs âwhy Bradâs held [things] back for many years.â
Â
Some hints about what took place behind closed doors have already emerged. In legal documents that surfaced in May, security company owner Tony Webb â whoâs worked for both stars â alleged one of his employees overheard Angelina âencouraging [the kids] to avoid spending time with Mr. Pitt during custody visits.â That followed previous speculation sheâd exerted control over the childrenâs relationship with their dad in those crucial early days post-split after details of a 2018 custody hearing leaked: A judge ordered her to foster the kidsâ connection with Brad and give him their childrenâs personal cellphone numbers so that â[he] may text them.â She was warned not to monitor their communications.
Â
Though Brad scored a win in 2021 when he was granted joint custody after a lengthy private trial, the ruling was overturned. Angelina got the judge disqualified over what Bradâs team described as a âtechnical procedural issue.â Since then, Brad â whoâs admitted to âboozing too muchâ before getting sober in the wake of their breakup â has seemingly seen his relationship with his children further deteriorate. Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have all, even publicly, dropped his surname.
Â
Brad Pitt Has Unfinished Business With Angelina JolieNow, any court-mandated visitation and contact will end when the twins turn 18 next year. âBrad fears heâs lost his kids forever because theyâve been fed so many lies,â says the insider. âHe wonât let Angelina take the winery from him, too.â
Â
In 2022, Brad sued over the 2021 sale of her stake in Miraval to an alcohol conglomerate led by a Russian billionaire, which Brad says violated an agreement they had requiring each to secure the otherâs permission before striking a deal with a third party (Angelinaâs said she didnât sell to Brad because a nondisclosure agreement he wanted her to sign would silence her abuse accusations). âHeâs going full force on his winery lawsuit,â confirms the insider. âHe has nothing left to lose.â
Â
Â
After the case goes to trial â likely later this year â he wants peace. Jewelry exec Ines de Ramon, 35, Bradâs girlfriend of more than two years, has given him hope for a fresh start. âBradâs grateful for Ines,â says the insider. âSheâs done so much to help him heal.â
