KBS2’s upcoming drama “Who Is She!” has unveiled the aspiring idol trainees of the group Element!
A remake of the famous film “Miss Granny,” which has spawned multiple remakes in other countries, “Who Is She!” is a music romance drama about Oh Mal Soon (Kim Hae Sook), a woman in her 70s who suddenly transforms into 20-year-old Oh Doo Ri (Jung Ji So), and gets a second chance at living out her dreams of becoming a singer.
The newly released stills spotlight the six members of Element, the idol trainee group that Oh Doo Ri becomes a part of.
Jung Ji So plays Oh Doo Ri, a 20-year-old version of Mal Soon who decides to start fresh as a trainee at UNIS Entertainment. However, her sudden inclusion in the debut lineup stirs conflict with the existing trainees.
Chae Won Bin portrays Choi Ha Na, a trainee who gives up on college entrance exams to become a UNIS Entertainment trainee despite her mother’s opposition. While preparing for debut alongside Doo Ri, she finds herself drawn to Doo Ri who reminds her of her grandmother Mal Soon, leading to a special bond between the two.
Hyun Jae Yeon takes on the role of Soo Jin, the visual and de facto leader of Element. A seasoned trainee who once faced the heartbreak of failing to debut, Soo Jin is secretly pleased when the previous center trainee Emily (Jung Ji So) disappears, but is shocked when Doo Ri, who looks like Emily but lacks dance skills, joins and takes over the center position.
Lee Ji Hyeon plays Min Ah, the only street-cast member of Element who comes from a wealthy family. Prioritizing connections over hard work, she aligns herself with Soo Jin, whom she sees as a guaranteed debut candidate.
Lapillus’s Yue stars as Olla, Element’s eldest and only foreign member. Olla joined UNIS Entertainment after winning first place in the agency’s global audition. Fluent in Korean after three years of training, she often surprises others with her use of slang and idiomatic expressions. Considering Emily to be her closest friend as she was the only person with whom she could speak English, she harbors mixed feelings about Doo Ri, who appears after Emily disappears.
Lapillus’s Seowon takes on the role of Jay, the group’s youngest member who was cast through a teen hip-hop competition. Despite her laid-back demeanor, Jay transforms into a charismatic performer on stage. With a big appetite, she often gets in trouble during weight checks, adding a touch of humor to her character.
As their debut nears, tensions rise within the group due to the unexpected additions of Doo Ri and Ha Na. Will these six trainees overcome their differences and debut as a united group?
“Who Is She!” will premiere on December 18 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
