Bridget Jones actress Sarah Solemani shares Fiona Bruce secret
Sarah Solemani, star of Bridget Jones, has revealed an unexpected secret about BBC news anchor and Antiques Roadshow host Fiona Bruce. Sarah was on The One Show discussing her role as Miranda in the latest film featuring Renee Zellweger when she disclosed that Fiona had given her some advice for her role as Bridget's best friend, who works in TV.
Sarah told hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp: "For the last movie we wanted to do some research so Renee and I went to the studio, we met Fiona and she talked us through. At the time I think she sometimes did the Six O Clock and the 10 O Clock."
Sarah then imitated Fiona saying: "I do the Six O Clock and the 10 O Clock and sometimes in between I go to the hotel and have a cocktail."

Alex joined in with: "She does! " Sarah continued: "I said, 'you have a cocktail between the news? ' I said 'have you ever had two? ' She said 'I have had two, the trouble with two is you begin not to care?'" As fellow guests Trinny Woodhall and Keeley Hawes laughed, Alex said: "This is true - she's amazing."
Roman praised Sarah's impersonation before Sarah confessed: "My dream role is actually to be Fiona Bruce.", reports Wales Online. Alex added: "Many layers to Fiona Bruce."
The newest addition to the Bridget Jones series, Mad About The Boy, is set for release in February. The plot summary reveals: Bridget Jones finally has some luck in her life; she has a great job as a screenwriter, her family and a new boyfriend; the fact that he is over twenty years younger than her isn't the only thing that is causing problems.

Miss Austen, which starts this weekend, is set in 1830. A letter arrives at Chawton Cottage, where Cassandra Austen (played by Keeley) has lived alone for many years since the death of her sister Jane.
The One Show is on BBC One weekdays at 7pm and is available on BBC iPlayer
