Bridget Jones star Sarah Solemani has shared a surprising secret about BBC news anchor and Antiques Roadshow host Fiona Bruce which will no doubt come as a surprise to her fans.
Sarah was appearing on BBC's The One Show to chat about her role as Miranda in the latest film starring Renee Zellweger in the title role when she revealed that Fiona gave her some tips as she prepared for her role as Bridget's best pal, who works in TV.
Sarah told hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp: "For the last movie we wanted to do some research so Renee and I went to the studio, we met Fiona and she talked us through. At the time I think she sometimes did the Six O Clock and the 10 O Clock."

Sarah then broke into a Fiona impersonation saying: "I do the Six O Clock and the 10 O Clock and sometimes in between I go to the hotel and have a cocktail." At this, Alex chimed in with: "She does!"Â
Sarah continued with her Fiona chat saying: "I said, 'you have a cocktail between the news?' I said 'have you ever had two?' She said 'I have had two, the trouble with two is you begin not to care?'"

As fellow guests Trinny Woodhall and Keeley Hawes laughed, Alex said: "This is true - she's amazing." Roman told Sarah how impressed he was with her impersonation. Sarah admitted: "My dream role is to be Fiona Bruce." While Alex added: "Many layers to Fiona Bruce."
The latest Bridget Jones instalment, Mad About The Boy, is released in February. The synopsis reads: Bridget Jones finally has some luck in her life; she has a great job as a screenwriter, her family and a new boyfriend; the fact that he is over twenty years younger than her isn't the only thing that is causing problems.

Elsewhere on The One Show, Trinny was chatting about her new role in the BBC prime-time Sunday night drama Miss austen while trinny was talking about her role as a guest dragon on BBC's dragons' Den.
