Britain's Got Talent was abruptly halted on Saturday (April 26) night as Ant and Dec issued a worrying announcement.

The hit ITV talent show returned to the Eventim Apollo tonight for the first live semi-final of the series, with a range of interesting acts performing for a spot in the grand final.

After the show was opened by dinosaur rockers Heavysaurus, the hosts explained that the second act, Teddy Magic, "wasn't ready" to perform. Instead, they spoke to the judges about the previous act.

"Now, Teddy isn't quite ready backstage yet. He hasn't got his magic up and ready yet, so we'll chat to you judges," Ant said, while Dec shared that they were going to have a "little change of plan".

"Just while he gets himself ready and composed backstage," Ant added.

A shocked Simon then enquired: "Hang on, so the act's not ready? It's okay, it's live," with Ant quipping: "And he's only eight years old, so back off, man!" 

After having a chat with the judges, Dec explained that they would be moving onto the third act, Vinnie McKee, instead, saying: "We're gonna have a little change of plan now. We're going to go to something else and come back to Teddy later on."

BGT fans quickly took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their disbelief after watching the unexpected events, with one person writing: "Poor Teddy Magic. I hope he's okay."

"It just occurred to me I think Teddy was supposed to be the first act as he was first in the previews, but then the dinosaurs went first. So he's missed two slots," another viewer noted.

But later in the show, the hosts confirmed Teddy Magic would not be appearing that night after all and he would instead perform again later in the series.

Later on, the live show faced another disturbance when dance troupe The Blackouts were delayed due to a technical problem.

"Now, you are not going to believe this. We're not quite ready," Dec said as the judges jumped out of their seats in shock.

"We're got a bit of a technical problem with the Blackouts, and while we sort that out, we're going to have a chat with our judges again."

However, the issue was resolved quickly, with the act gracing the stage shortly after. Their performance impressed the judges and audience, with Amanda pressing the golden buzzer to send the group straight through to the final.
