Sam Asghari has given an insight into what life with ex Britney Spears was really like under her conservatorship.
The actor, 30, first met the popstar, 43, on the set of her Slumber Party music video in back in 2016 and they tied the knot in 2022 after six years of dating.
Sadly, their fairytale ending wasn’t to be, with him filing for divorce 14 months later.
For the majority of their relationship, Spears was under a conservatorship where most aspects of her life were controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.
This was finally ended after 14 years when a judge declared Spears a free woman in November 2021.

Asghari has now spoken about how he first found out about the Toxic hit-maker’s unusual situation and surprisingly, it wasn’t from Spears herself.
Appearing on podcast The Viall Files, he explained: “That was very strange for me to deal with. I got hit with that at the beginning [of his relationship with Spears].
When asked by the host if Spears had “explained it” to him, Asghari said that it was someone on her team who made him aware.
“She didn't explain. Somebody called me and said, 'Oh, just so you know, this is this and make sure you're obeying by our rules and stuff like that,'' he claimed.
Asghari - who immigrated to America from Iran at age 12 - said he initially feared that Spears was being “suppressed” and “controlled”.
“I'm coming from a country where I dealt with this already. I dealt with women being suppressed and being controlled by men their whole life,” he said.
“So I was like, 'Ok, this is weird but, wait a minute, this is America. Something doesn't make sense.''
After the phone call, he said he didn’t go straight to Spears to press her on it.
“Not necessarily. I really tried to understand it. I tried to understand why [the conservatorship] was ever in place to begin with,” he told Viall.
He then admitted that he felt powerless to help change the situation as her boyfriend and that he was “afraid” of losing the songstress if he tried to rock the boat.
'You really don't have much to say especially if you're just a boyfriend or someone that's just there [in her life],” he said.
“I was afraid they were gonna maybe make me not see her and things like that”
Instead, Asghari said he aimed to support the embattled star, adding: “You have to be gentle and provide support as much as you can.”
He refused to rise to the bait however when asked if he faced “threats” from Spears’ estate if he didn't “follow the rules and regulations” put in place for her.
While he did confirm that he had been made to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with Spears, he said he still wouldn’t go into that as he has “morals”.
“What I do have is an upbringing with a lot of respect and what I do have is morals,” he said.
'I don't like talking about it. I get it, there was a lot of fans and there's a lot of questions. It's almost weird if you don't talk about it, you know what I mean?'
On the NDA, he added: “You can't take a poop in Hollywood without having an NDA. … That's the true part of it.”
