CBB's Angellica Bell in tears as she opens up on ITV exit from Martin Lewis show
Celebrity Big Brother housemate Angellica Bell was left in tears as she opened up about her exit from ITV's The Martin Lewis Money Show
TV presenter Angellica Bell became emotional as she opened up about her departure from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023.
On Tuesday (22 April) evening, Angellica stepped into the Diary Room in the Celebrity Big Brother house, where she tearfully discussed her challenging experience on the show.
After a lighthearted exchange with Big Brother about her morning antics in the house, Angellica's mood shifted as she confessed: "I'm going to be honest with you, I didn't think I'd get this far. I'm still pinching myself that I'm here."
Big Brother responded, "Big Brother thinks you're a great housemate," which touched Angellica's heart and caused her to break down in tears as she admitted she's "not very good at compliments."
Angellica became emotional in the Diary Room
Angellica reflected on her time in the house, saying: "I've loved every minute, it's probably the best thing I've done in a long time. Before I came in here, I was a little bit scared. The press were asking me if I would talk about the Martin Lewis show and stuff, it took me a long time to get over that."
She thanked her supporters, including audience members and fellow celebrities who reached out to her during that difficult period. "I was so grateful to all of the audience who messaged me about it, also to other celebrities who contacted me and stuff, because those messages are what got me through."
Angellica said her motivation for joining Celebrity Big Brother was to reconnect with her old self, a process that has taken time. As she composed herself, Big Brother offered encouragement: "Angelica, Big Brother thinks you're doing really well."
Angellica replied: "You know what, I think I found myself again being here."
Angellica previously appeared on The Martin Lewis Money Show
Angelica, 49, who has an impressive career spanning a quarter of a century in children's and daytime television, found herself unexpectedly cut from the esteemed show in 2023 after co-hosting for six years, reports the Mirror.
Initially, Angellica was told quite directly that she was no longer required on set and found herself swiftly replaced by former Olympian and now broadcaster Jeanette Kwakye.
Having joined The Martin Lewis Money Show team in 2017, Angellica then presented Channel 5's updated version of The Gadget Show â rebranded as Shop Smart, Save Money.
At the time, there were whispers of a 'conflict of interest' causing her hasty departure from the ITV project.
ITV released a statement: "Angellica is not working on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes."
Celebrity Big Brother airs on ITV1 at 9pm
