Chelsea Green Names Who She'd Want To Face In WWE Divas Only Open Challenge
WWE Women;s United States Champion Chelsea Green reveals some names she'd like to see answer the call in a Divas only open challenge.
Chelsea Green wants to bring back the WWE Divas.
So far, Chelsea Green has successfully defended her WWE Womenâs United States Championship against one person, that being Michin. Looking ahead, the inaugural champion is now looking to potentially hold an open challenge, reserved for former WWE Divas only. While speaking with Cultaholic, Green revealed some names sheâd like to see answer the call.
âKelly Kelly, Nikki Bella, Beth Phoenix, Michelle McCool, Layla. I love Layla, I would love if Layla would come. Honestly, I could go on forever â Alicia Fox,â Green said. âWeâve just got so many amazing women who can still go and theyâre still young. These women got into wrestling really, really young so I think it would be a cool moment for the audience to witness that. I think itâs a far-fetched idea but itâs not impossible.â
âFor me, when I think about âDivaâ thereâs no negative connotation to it because I loved them,â Green continued. âI think they are strong women with sex appeal and, if Iâm being honest, thatâs what I aspire to be. So I am totally okay being called a Diva, however I do understand why weâve transitioned. The men arenât called something ridiculous, they donât have a name for them, theyâre just the men. If we want to be equal counterparts, weâve got to be the women. Thatâs what weâre doing but I donât mind if you call me a Diva.â
John Cena, a former WWE United States Champion, commonly hosted open challenges throughout his title reigns in 2015. Should Green do the same, it will mark a first for the Womenâs United States Championship, as Green herself is the inaugural titleholder. She captured the title last month by defeating Michin at WWE Saturday Nightâs Main Event.
