Chris Martin is joining the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 opening ceremony lineup, bringing even more star power to the February 8 event at BC Place. The Coldplay frontman, who has sold over 100 million albums and won seven Grammys, is set to deliver a performance embodying the Games' resilience, courage, and hope themes.
Founded by Prince Harry, the Invictus Games is an international adaptive sports competition for wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans. More than just a sporting event, the Games celebrate the power of sport in recovery, fostering camaraderie and inspiring resilience among competitors worldwide.
Martin’s connection to the Invictus Games runs deep. In 2014, he composed the “Invictus Anthem”, based on William Ernest Henley’s 1875 poem Invictus. The anthem debuted at the inaugural games in London and has since become a key part of the event’s medal ceremonies. He joins a stacked roster of performers, including pop icon Katy Perry, Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Noah Kahan, and Canadian favourites Nelly Furtado and Roxane Bruneau.
