Christina Haack Confirms HGTV's 'Christina in the Country' Won't Return
Longtime HGTV star Christina Haack revealed why her show "Christina in the Country," filmed in Tennessee, won't be returning.
Two years after Christina Haack said sheâd âfallen in love with Tennesseeâ as she launched her new show, âChristina in the Country,â the longtime HGTV star now says the show and her life there is âover.â
During an appearance on SiriusXMâs âThe Jeff Lewis Showâ on January 10, 2025, Haack â who has reclaimed her maiden name (pronounced âhawkâ) since filing for divorce from third husband Josh Hall in July â told Lewis that after two seasons of conducting renovations in the Nashville area, she wonât be returning to film any more episodes.
After the second season aired in the fall of 2024, featuring segments Haack filmed with Hall before they split, rumors had swirled that the show may not return given their breakup and her decision to sell their home there.
Haack confirmed those rumors to Lewis as he listed off the HGTV shows sheâs starred in, including âFlip or Flopâ and âChristina on the Coast.â When he mentioned âChristina in the Country,â the interior designer interjected, âThatâs over. That was two seasons.â
Though Hall filed court documents to temporarily force Haack to pause the potential sale of her Tennessee home, Haack told Lewis sheâs moving forward with the sale. By January 2025, the listing had returned to active status.
âIâm selling that one, I just donât want it anymore,â she told Lewis. âItâs too hard to go back and forth.â
When Lewis asked whether it was âa place where you and Josh would go together,â Haack responded, âYes, he lives in Tennessee, too. So he can stay in Tennessee. Iâll stay in California.â
Haack rose to fame on HGTV with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, as they starred in 10 seasons of âFlip or Flop,â but the couple split in 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2018. Amid her divorce from her second husband, Ant Anstead, she âfell in love with Tennesseeâ while visiting a friend and bought an âinsanely beautiful modern farmhouseâ on 23 acres outside of Nashville in early 2021, she told People.
A year later, she met and began dating Hall there, and by October 2022 they were married, according to divorce documents reviewed by EntertainmentNOW. They began filming âChristina in the Countryâ together, which premiered its first six-episode season in January 2023.
âIâve fallen in love with Tennessee and it truly has become our home away from home,â she said in a statement at the time. âWeâre enjoying all the perks of living in the countryâthe privacy, clean air, nature and clear night sky. And having the opportunity to grow my design business both here and in California is a dream come true.â
Haack, a native Californian, has changed her tune on life in Tennessee since her relationship with Hall imploded. After they filed for divorce in July, she and her three kids remained in their primary home in Newport Beach, California, while Hall retreated to the Tennessee farmhouse.
