Coleen Nolan's brother Brian issues health warning after cancer diagnosis
Brian Nolan, the brother of Loose Women star Coleen Nolan, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has issued a health warning to men about the importance of regular checks.

Coleen Nolan's brother Brian has courageously discussed his diagnosis of prostate cancer on TV, sending out a vital message to viewers.
The 70-year-old, who is mourning the loss of his sibling Linda Nolan to pneumonia this past January, went on ITV's Loose Women to open up about his health battle and stress the importance of regular health screenings.

Article continues belowOn an emotion-charged Monday episode (March 24), Brian underscored the critical nature of cancer check-ups, saying: "The word cancer is no longer a death sentence, most cancers are treated but the key is please please please have your PSA once a year and we're going to start a campaign."
He highlighted that males often lack symptoms and donât receive notifications for testing, which is why heâs advocating for annual reminders: "The problem really is there is no notification for men, there are no symptoms really. What we are suggesting is getting notifications when it is time for your test and one test a year will do it."

Emphasising early detection, Brian pointed out how essential it is in preserving lives: "If there is any issues in the PSA, they can treat it and there is ten stages to go so what you're going is potentially saving your life."
During his appearance, he also shared the moment he was told about his cancer following bladder problems and subsequent blood analyses, reports the Express.

He said: "The doctor confirmed 'yes you've got cancer.' It's just something in your life you really don't want to hear. I was completely speechless. My wife was with me, she broke down a little bit."
During this difficult time, Coleen praised her brother for how well he handled Linda's death while dealing with his own health issues. He expressed his wish to keep his illness private so that the family could focus on grieving for Linda.

Cancer has repeatedly affected the Nolan family. They mourned the loss of Linda and previously Bernie, who passed away from breast cancer in 2003; both Bernie and Coleen have faced their own struggles with the disease.
In 2023, Coleen courageously disclosed her skin cancer diagnosis, discussing her treatments for carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-melanoma on her face.
Another family member, Anne, initially beat breast cancer in 2000 but faced it again twenty years later. Fortunately, she has recently announced that she is now cancer-free.
