Comic Relief hero Jamie Lang says 'body is broken' on final ultra marathon day
Jamie Laing is entering his final day of his 150 mile ultramarathon for Comic Relief but has admitted his body is 'screaming for him to stop' after a tough day yesterday.
Comic relief hero Jamie Laing is on his final day of his ultramarathon but with the finish line so close in sight, the TV presenter has admitted his 'body is broken'.
The 36-year-old has raised a staggering £900,000 for Comic Relief through his five day 150 miles running challenge from London to Manchester for Red Nose Day.
‌
Article continues belowJamie reached his £500,000 milestone yesterday which means fellow Radio 1 host Greg James will join him on his final 30 mile run today while wearing a wedding dress.
With just one day left to go, Jamie finished up in hilly Matlock yesterday after throwing up while running and has admitted that he is struggling to reach his finish line.
‌
Taking to Instagram this morning ahead of his last leg, he wrote: "As I kick off my last ultra run, I wanted to say a thank you to everyone. Everyone who has messaged me (I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply), everyone who has dm'd me on socials - again I wish I could reply to them all.
"Thank you for being behind me all the way and a part of this. It makes me emotional even writing this but I truly couldn't have done it without you. Truly.. thank you for all your donations. Thank you for every single kind moment, message, everything and hopefully.. hopefully.. I make it to Salford today.
‌
"My body is broken. It's screaming to say stop but I'm going to just do my best! Love to every single person and just remember (coming from someone who had only ever run a 5km before this year and who's suffered with anxiety) you are stronger than you think. Better than you will ever know and you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it."
BBC Radio 1 announced this morning that Jamie's new total was closer to a million, which the presenter admitted he ‘really wasn’t expecting’.

"My right knee is totally blown up, I can hardly move my left leg. I’m going to need some help getting out of bed. I’ll see you soon hopefully."
