Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd has disclosed how he utilised the thousands of pounds bequeathed to him in a fan's will. The actor previously shared the unusual news that he was included in a fan's last testament, and recently revealed how he spent the unexpected windfall.
In conversation with his Corrie colleague Ben Price and outgoing star Colson Smith, it emerged that he used the surprise funds for a spontaneous family holiday to Florida, US. .
Ben, who plays Jack's on-screen brother, recounted his initial reaction to the peculiar inheritance: "I was convinced that it was a scam and I said 'that's a scam, you're getting f*****g scammed, I hope you're getting scammed because I'll be so f****d off if you're not'."
The story first came to light back in 2018 during an Instagram Q&A with Julia Goulding, who portrays David's wife Shona on Corrie. Jack informed fans that he had been left a substantial ÂŁ5,000 by a devoted postman fan from New Zealand.

Dave J Hogan/Getty Images)He recalled, "(He) gave me five grand in their will. From New Zealand, a fan. Died, and gave me 10 per cent of his estate, which was five grand. So cheers," reports Lancs Live.
Earlier in the show, the trio of actors discussed some of the other fan mail they've received over the years. While much of it was fairly standard, the soap stars admitted they occasionally receive rather explicit letters from fans.
Making his debut on the cobbles at a tender age of 12 as David Platt, Jack, the second eldest son of the recently departed Gail Platt, has become a fixture on the show over the years, featuring in some of the soap's most significant storylines. Born in Pudsey, West Yorkshire, the 37 year old has also carved out a career in theatre, starring in numerous stage performances, including adaptations of West Side Story and Oliver!, based on Charles Dickens' 1838 novel, Oliver Twist.
It comes after Jack revealed how he fell out with his co-stars over a difference of opinion on whether he should have a stag do before his impending nuptials. The actor is due to tie the knot later this year, but is unsure whether he wants the traditional rite of passage.

"But I just need to tell you that it's happening, that there is a small group of us, which is only four people and then including yourself, that's five, but we have to tell you now that you are having a stag do."
As Jack claimed he hadn't been told, Colson reminded him of their discussion in the gym, asserting that they'd had a meeting, to which Jack firmly denied, adding they didn't have a "f*****g meeting".
Colson, however, tried to placate Jack and reassured him that the celebration would be low-key, after Jack reluctantly suggested that they could "go for a bit of food and then go out."
