DJ Unk's Last Instagram Post Filled With Love From Fans
Rapper DJ Unk, known for his hit songs "Walk It Out" and "2 Step" is receiving condolences from fans on social media.
Fans have taken to the comments section of DJ Unk’s last Instagram post to send love and prayers following his death.
The rapper, known for his hit songs “Walk It Out” and “2 Step” died at the age of 43. He wasn’t active on social media, with his last Instagram post uploaded more than 10 years ago. However, that March 2014 upload, which was a poster for a car and bike show sponsored by Heineken, has become a place for fans to share their condolences.
A cause of death for DJ Unk, whose real name is Anthony Platt, has not yet been released.

On January 24, DJ Unk’s wife, Sherkita Long-Platt, announced her husband’s death on Facebook.
“Please respect me and my family. I just lost my husband and my kids just lost their father. Our life will never be the same. I LOVE YOU ANTHONY FOREVER,” she wrote on Facebook.
A statement from Korey “Big Oomp” Roberson, founder of the record label that signed DJ Unk, shared a statement with the New York Post.
“It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a true ATL legend, Anthony Platt better known as ‘DJ Unk.’ We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the countless fans who were touched by his artistry and spirit,” Roberson said.
“DJ Unk was not just a legendary DJ, rapper and producer, but a true cornerstone of our label and the imprint that he left globally will be cherished forever,” the statement continued.
“Hit songs such as ‘Walk It Out’ and ‘2 Step’ have left an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will continue to inspire artists, DJs, and fans alike for years to come. His energy, creativity, and commitment to the craft will never be forgotten,” Roberson concluded.

Many of the condolences posted on DJ Unk’s Instagram account make note of his most well-known songs, both of which still make the rounds.
“Praying for your family,” one person wrote.
“Today, his passing leaves us without a great artist, but his music will inspire generations. Our condolences to DJ Unk’s family, friends, and fans. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy live on forever,” someone else said.
“Gonna blast Walk It Out in the club tonite,” a third comment read.
“‘Walk it out’ and ‘2 step remix’ had the house parties lit back in freshman years. Good times. Thanks for the memories. RIP DJ Unk,” another Instagram user added.
“2 step will always be a slap from bro RIP,” read a fifth comment.
